Description

Microsoft has an exciting opportunity to join the Silver Infrastructure and Operations team in supporting our Secure Work Area operations. This team will be responsible for deploying and operating a Secure Work Area, including the infrastructure for collaboration within an airgapped environment. 

  

In this role as a Principal Service Engineering Manager, you will have the opportunity to work with engineers who enable a broad set of Azure services to be consumed by internal and external customers in highly secured and regulated industries. The systems and software you build and manage will be required to meet the security policy and assurance requirements of both public and private sector customers.

Leads teams managing Secure Work Area infrastructure including physical spaces, networked devices, and telecom and videoconferencing systems. Expands end-to-end expertise in service and/or system design, interactions between technology layers and components, functions of infrastructure, and dependencies at scale. Evolves team knowledge and capabilities as the technology landscape evolves. Manages teams of engineers across organizations to implement reliable, scalable, and high-performance solutions. Holds team accountable for participation in on-call rotations and ensures Service Engineering teams across organizations are equipped to respond to incidents by driving the development of end-to-end technical expertise, monitoring and analysis tools, and scalable solutions that prevent incident recurrence across products. Holds team accountable for understanding and following prescriptive guidance for security, privacy, and compliance standards in alignment with direction from the business and technical experts and consideration for business impact. Builds coalitions of support across organizations, holds internal teams and external partners accountable for sharing information and meeting mutual commitments, achieves scale across teams by enabling and engaging others, and builds alignment in processes and objectives across teams. Facilitates sharing and definition of insights, best practices, and standards that can be applied to improve the system, platform, and/or product development and operations across organizations. In addition, this role has people management responsibilities, including driving employee growth and development, executing projects, and managing performance.Embody our Culture and Values

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 4+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, service engineering, or systems engineering OR equivalent experience. Other Requirements:

Security Clearance Requirements: Candidates must be able to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

The successful candidate must have an active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with Polygraph. Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. Failure to maintain or obtain the appropriate U.S. Government clearance and/or customer screening requirements may result in employment action up to and including termination.Clearance Verification: This position requires successful verification of the stated security clearance to meet federal government customer requirements. You will be asked to provide clearance verification information prior to an offer of employment.Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of U.S. citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 12+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, service engineering, or systems engineering OR equivalent experience. 5+ years technical experience working with large-scale cloud or distributed systems.5+ years people management experience.Management Information Systems (MIS), or other industry or product specific Engineering Certifications Experience managing critical infrastructure, data centers, and/or high security, high availability facilities Experience managing high security, high availability communications systems Service Engineering M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
