Microsoft Sovereign Cloud Security is looking for highly motivated candidates that can thrive in a non-traditional, agile environment at the cutting-edge of the security market. Our group is responsible for providing organizations with the best security solution for their cloud environment, allowing for visibility, governance, and protection over their infrastructure, platforms, and application solutions. We are looking for a Senior Security Assurance Engineer to join a fast-paced team solving complex security and systems focused problems in the sovereign cloud security space. You will work closely with a distributed engineering team, product management, CXP, and customers in addition to the central Azure organization leveraging the best platforms that Microsoft has to offer. The Senior Security Assurance Engineer will play a key role driving efforts to improve security in the sovereign cloud environment. This includes working with teams throughout the organization to identify and address security vulnerabilities and compliance issues and to educate users about security best practices. The SAE will leverage their broad Security experience to design and implement solutions to security challenges in the Azure environment. Conduct targeted security reviews and threat models to identify known and unknown vulnerabilities and weaknesses Conduct emerging Threat and Vulnerability ResearchIdentify and evaluate new areas for research, perform analysis into emerging threats, including proactive security research on the technologies that Azure and our customers utilize and depend onEmbody a learning and sharing mindset along with drive to improve the existing state. Coordinate planning and execution with internal engineering teams, business partners and technical leaders across the divisionProactive identification and reduction of Security issues through design, testing, and implementation of custom tools / solutionsAbility to work as part of an on-call rotation and to contribute to multiple projects/demands simultaneouslyEmbody our culture and values

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

5+ years experience in software development lifecycle, large scale computing, modeling, cyber security, anomaly detectionOR Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Risk Management, Cyber Security, or related fieldOR equivalent experience.Other Requirements

Security Clearance Requirements: Candidates must be able to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Candidates must have an active TS and be willing to upgrade to TS/SCI (with polygraph) or have an active TS/SCI and be willing to upgrade to TS/SCI (with polygraph). This role will require candidates to maintain the TS/SCI (with polygraph) clearance. Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. Failure to maintain or obtain the appropriate clearance and/or customer screening requirements may result in employment action up to and including termination.Clearance Verification: This position requires successful verification of the stated security clearance to meet federal government customer requirements. You will be asked to provide clearance verification information prior to an offer of employment. Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of U.S. citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Specifically, this position supports United States federal, state, and/or local United States government agency customer and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law. 6+ years of experience in identifying security vulnerabilities, software development, large-scale computing, modeling, cyber security, and anomaly detection OR Master's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field. 4+ years of experience with Secure Software Development practices 3+ years experience with implementing security controls and process for hyper-scale computing platforms • CISSP, CASP+, or similar certificationsSecurity Assurance IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
