Microsoft’s Enterprise Resilience and Crisis Management (ERCM) team within our Corporate, External and Legal Affairs (CELA) organization is focused on enabling Microsoft to anticipate, prepare for, manage, and respond effectively to resilience risks and crisis events. Join our team to help us achieve our mission! We are recruiting a Resilience Architect to work with internal engineering teams to implement practices to continuously improve our resilience posture. Additionally, this role will occasionally work with customers to enable them to achieve their own resilience objectives using Microsoft products. Specifically, you will be responsible for ensuring highly resilient and scalable service designs across Microsoft through partnerships with engineering teams to understand the complexities of existing dependencies and drive end-to-end resilience. Additionally, you will be responsible for identifying opportunities for automation and the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and writing business requirements that will enable us to scale our work across the Microsoft enterprise.The goal is to empower Microsoft to meet our customer commitments by ensuring the resilience of our critical services, business processes, suppliers, and their dependencies. This Resilience Architect will have a successful track record architecting resilient systems and working across a diverse set of stakeholders to educate and inspire others to design and build resilient solutions. Finally, our work is data-driven in that we use data to identify patterns of failure to focus improvements to deliver the biggest resilience impact.In this role, you will enjoy solving complex problems, working in ambiguous and undefined spaces, working with stakeholders of various backgrounds and levels across Microsoft, and guiding teams through transformative change. Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree AND 6+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product developmentOR equivalent experience3+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects3+ years experience in software engineering, cloud infrastructure, or security engineering2 + years experience in the field of engineering technical resiliencyExperience presenting to an executive audience and drafting or contributing to technical white papersPreferred Qualifications:
Experience in the fields of business continuity, disaster recovery, reliability, resiliency, incident/crisis management, and/or risk managementExperience with Azure/cloud, resiliency, recovery, threat modeling, failure analysis, or related fieldsProgram or Project Management experience and the ability to lead large, complex projects via a cross-functional virtual teamExperience working collaboratively across teamsOutstanding problem-solving skills and passion to solve complex technical and operational challengesOther Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This position may require verification of U.S citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Specifically, this position may support United States federal, state, and/or local United States government agency customers and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law. To meet this legal requirement, citizenship will be verified via a valid passport or other approved documents, or verified US government clearance.Microsoft Cloud Background Check. This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Technical Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
