Description
Microsoft is looking for a Renewable Energy Analyst to join the Renewable Energy Team within Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) organization. This position will support the management of renewable energy invoicing and attribute tracking to meet Microsoft’s 100% renewable energy goal by 2025 and support our carbon neutrality by 2030. This role is a unique opportunity to gain a wide range of exposure to corporate renewable energy through managing key sustainability and cost data while working to evolve systems needed to efficiently achieve our ambitious goals.The candidate will have experience with renewable energy, ability to manage commercial relationships with effective communication, and demonstrate analytical skills through a demonstrated ability to deliver results. Settlements
Manage the tracking and approval of renewable energy project invoices and data to ensure timely and accurate settlements with counterpartiesLeverage tools and renewable energy contractual knowledge to investigate and resolve discrepancies with supplier invoicesMonitor and manage associated payments in accordance with contract terms and company policiesDevelop and track purchase ordersSupport the management of portfolio dataAttribute Management
Manage the tracking and reconciliation of renewable energy attribute credits that support Microsoft’s environmental claimsWork with counterparties and attribute registries to ensure full delivery of renewable energy credits across varied and complex contract structuresTooling, Process & Reporting
Support the development and implementation of relevant tooling and systems to enable scale of invoicing and attribute managementDevelop analytics and management processes to optimize the operations renewable energy portfolioWork collaboratively across internal teams to support operations functions such as supplier managementSupport the reporting and auditing of Microsoft’s renewable energy performance
Qualifications
Required Qualifications2+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, manufacturing, or relevant sales-related roles, including internship experienceOR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field OR equivalent experience.Other Requirements
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of experience in the energy sector with exposure to wholesale energy markets.Experience with renewable energy registries such as PJM-GATS, NAR, WRIGIS, and European GoO tracking.Familiarity with any of the following: SQL or other querying language, large scale data management, or data system / platform architecture. Proficiency with MS Excel and other MS Office suite products.Analytical capabilities and close attention to detail to support the operations of the renewable energy portfolio.
Sourcing Engineering IC2 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $81,900 - $160,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $105,600 - $174,600 per year.
