The Azure AI Customer Experience Engineering team within the Microsoft AI platform product organization works on the Azure AI growth strategy, engages the largest customers and partners in the world to co-innovate, incubate, and improve our core AI platform from scenarios utilizing Azure platform Services, and develop new scenarios and product categories. We do so by building and infusing AI technologies in real world solutions and extending the signals from real world patterns to build robust, scalable AI platform services and products.

We are looking for the best and brightest talent to join our group and help us lead the next generation of Azure AI Service solutions. We are looking to hire a Principal Program Manager to join our team. As a Principal Program Manager, you will work with customers and our Microsoft AI Platforms Engineering teams to enable and drive Microsoft’s AI Services to grow to a multi-$B business.

You will play a crucial role in guiding the organization through data-driven decision-making analyzing market data and our customer base, providing insights and recommendations to support business growth and product priorities. You will also drive consistency throughout the team leading initiatives such as the voice of the customer, gathering actionable feedback to influence product priorities.

Engaging with customers, you will promote the adoption of Multi Model Intelligence (MMI), deliver technical briefings, and develop insights to inform our strategy and go-to-market (GTM) approach. This will require analyzing and understanding customer needs and habits, possessing a mastery of MMI, recognizing gaps in our product during customer interactions and acting as the voice of the customer to share learnings for product improvement, conducting competitive analysis, partnering with various teams across Microsoft to develop and execute on a strategic thesis and GTM, and participating actively in customer exec briefings and outreach.

In addition, you will manage the rhythm of the business (ROB) for executive communications to highlight team’s achievements, identify opportunities and risks, and support strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities:

Deliver comprehensive customer base analyses to identify, categorize, and size market opportunities. Develop a framework to understand use cases, product strengths, prioritize new features, deepen sales with existing customers, and target new customers.Identify strategic initiatives and drive consistency across team including the programmatic delivery of the voice of the customer initiative across team. Collaborating with product, marketing, UX, and account teams to gather structured, actionable feedback to influence product priorities.Manage the rhythm of business (ROB) executive communications to highlight team accomplishments, identify opportunities and risks, and inform strategic decision-making.Analyze and conduct market research, providing actionable insights to inform executive reviews and product priorities.Drive the MMI Customer Experience Engineering technical engagement cycle with our most strategic customers and partners moving from ideation, through POC and production.Build and engage in MMI Service presentations and executive briefings to help customers and partners gain foundational knowledge and to identify engagement opportunities.Engage deeply with key customers to understand their use cases, position MMI, and accelerate field team efforts. Assemble and manage cross-organizational project engagement teams for business and technical discussions.Glean strategic insights from customer learning into customer product shape requirements, use cases and usage patterns, develop recommendations to shape the product roadmap and GTM, and act as the voice of the customer when delivering these findings to product leadership. The goal is to accelerate the product.Drive mindshare through customer stories, tier 1 events, and collaboration with PR and product marketing teams to establish Microsoft as the AI market leader.Build the foundations of scale for our direct sales and channel selling motions.OtherEmbody our Culture and Values



Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.6+ years of proven track record as a Program Manager, Product Manager, Specialist Sales, Solution Architect, or related job title, working with customers and partners, with deep focus on AI strategy and GTM and/or customer technical engagement and/or AI engineering.Proven track record with cloud services delivering product and/or production deployments; and scaling usage / consumption of product and servicesPreferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate is entrepreneurial and self-motivated to drive the creation of business strategies and GTM for AI products and services, who has a proven track record in enterprise business and product roles, and who can collaborate and partner within a deep engineering and product org, and across sales and marketing stakeholders, and is comfortable formulating data-driven theses in ambiguous and complex situationsEnterprise customer and partner engagement skills – we are working with customers and partners to integrate our Generative AI technology as part of their digital transformation initiatives. This requires deep customer interfacing skills to capture requirements and translate them into product plans, user journeys, and end-to-end scenarios across different personas and use cases.Customer focus and a deep commitment to delivering quality products that create customer value and delightful experiences through deeper understanding of customer needs.Internal Microsoft and external customer focus and a deep commitment to excellence in what they do with a very high bar for quality and accountability for results, operating in a fast-paced, and oftentimes ambiguous environment.Excellent attention to detail, planning, organization, and project management skillsEffective communication skills with a broad range of audiences and ability to influence without authority.Outstanding problem solving and conflict-resolution skills across a set of technical, product, and business challenges

Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
