Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers our cloud services. As a CO+I Principal Program Manager, GPU Deployment, you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform. This role is located either in one or all hub locations - Atlanta, GA, Washington, D.C., Redmond, WA, San Antonio, TX or Phoenix, AZ.

Relocation support will be provided, and successful candidates will need to relocate or reside within 50 miles of the hub office location.

This role is eligible for hybrid or remote work, up to 100%.

Service Delivery:

Place safety and security first.Develop and drive the overall strategy for Microsoft's Data Center operations fiber deployment program, ensuring alignment with business objectives and infrastructure needs.Develop materials and operational schedules to meet business objectives.Drive project deliverables to maintain project schedules.Communication:

Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including operations, supply chain, engineering, external contractors and manufacturers, to execute program plans and deliverables on schedule and within budget.Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards in all deployment activities.Lead program reviews, providing executive-level updates on progress, challenges, and opportunities.Business Planning:

Manage budgets, forecasting and procurement/invoicing of all projects.Define and track key performance indicators to measure program success, identifying and mitigating risks proactively.Drive continuous improvement in processes and methodologies to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of fiber deployment projects.Partner with engineering teams to develop future technologies, processes and programs to support the next generation of server deployments.

Physical Requirements (Applies to but is not limited to US-based Data Center roles):

Occasional climbing of ladders. Frequent climbing of stairs and/or ramps. Prolonged standing. Occasional lifting 50lbs. / 22.5kg. Occasional push or pull 50-75lbs. / 22.5-34kg. with assistive device. *Normal visual acuity (near, far and peripheral with correction). *Normal is defined via standard medical terms and applicable criteria.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

High School Qualification or equivalent AND 10+ years experience of mission-critical service management (e.g., providing IT services, manufacturing, warehouse, retail, military, or managing physical operations in an IT and/or critical environment infrastructure) OR equivalent experience 3+ years of people management experience.3+ successfully managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders.Background Check Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Technical College Degree in Computer Science, Math, Telecommunications, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management or related field AND 15+ years experience in enterprise-level experience managing large scale and complex projects/programs, or Critical Environment infrastructures (e.g., UPS, Generator, AHU), or working in physical IT infrastructures (e.g., Servers, SANs, Networking, Capacity, DC Rack/Enclosures, structured cabling) OR High School Qualification or equivalent AND 17+ years experience in enterprise-level experience managing large scale and complex projects/programs, or Critical Environment infrastructures (e.g., UPS, Generator, AHU), or working in physical IT infrastructures (e.g., Servers, SANs, Networking, Capacity, DC Rack/Enclosures, structured cabling) OR equivalent experienceExperience managing large vendor multi-year contracts and operating entitiesAbility to collaborate, present, and negotiate effectively across groups of various levels and disciplines, senior company leaders, engineers, suppliers, partners, and external customers.  Knowledge of critical environment concepts and infrastructure (e.g., Electrical Distribution, Mechanical Cooling Systems, etc.)   A solid understanding of financial management, budgeting, and forecasting.  Working knowledge of NFPA70E, National Electrical Code (NEC), ASME, IEEE and any other standards required by country. Solid understanding of OSHA requirements as it relates to Data Center best practices. SME level working knowledge in the Control of Hazardous Energy in complex mission critical. infrastructure. Experience in FMEA, RCA, and RCFA processes.

Data Center Operations Management M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $140,200 - $277,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $185,600 - $306,000 per year.
