Within Azure Data, the databases team builds and maintains Microsoft's operational Database systems. We store and manage data in a structured way to enable multitude of applications across various industries. We are on a journey to enable developer friendly, mission-critical, AI enabled operational Databases across relational, non-relational and OSS offerings.
The Postgres Open-Source Community PM team at Microsoft is hiring a Principal Program Manager to navigate the unique (and often complex) intersection of the global Postgres open source community and the Azure Database for PostgreSQL business. This isn’t a standard feature PM role. Instead, you will be a key strategist and bridge-builder responsible for driving our community initiatives, from leading POSETTE: An Event for Postgres (our virtual developer event) to managing our global sponsorship presence at Postgres community conferences. You’ll need to be equally comfortable talking shop with open-source community members, collaborating with Postgres engineering experts, and navigating internal business cycles to secure funding for our initiatives. If you enjoy building trust across organizational boundaries and want to ensure Microsoft is a first-class citizen in the Postgres ecosystem, this is your role.

Responsibilities
Own and drive the end-to-end project management for our Postgres community programs such as POSETTE and our Postgres conference sponsorshipsLead the annual strategic planning and budgeting process to secure stakeholder alignment and funding for our Postgres community initiativesWork collaboratively with Postgres developers, PMs, marketers, designers, and speakers to drive our high-impact community initiatives to successEngage the Postgres ecosystem through thought leadership, including creating and amplifying Postgres content via blogs, talks, and social mediaBuild and maintain trust with members of the broader Postgres open source communityEnjoy working in the intersection of the upstream Postgres open source project and Microsoft downstream services like Azure Database Embody our culture and values
Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree AND extensive experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience. Deep experience taking a product, feature, or experience to market (e.g., design, addressing product market fit, and launch, internal tool/framework). Preferred/Additional Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree AND significant experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.Substantial experience improving product metrics for a product, feature, or experience in a market (e.g., growing customer base, expanding customer usage, avoiding customer churn)Preferred experience working effectively with open source developer communities.

This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
The salary for this role is starting from 134 196 EUR per annum depending on experience.
