The Assume Breach team within Microsoft 365 plays a pivotal role in proactively identifying and mitigating threats across Microsoft’s platforms.

We are looking for a Principal Program Manager to lead strategic initiatives that strengthen our security posture and drive innovation in threat detection and response.

Lead cross-functional programs focused on proactive threat identification, containment, and mitigation across Microsoft 365 services.Partner with threat intelligence, engineering, and product teams to develop scalable solutions that anticipate attacker behavior and reduce risk.Drive the development and adoption of graph-based and analytical techniques to surface insights from massive volumes of security data.Define and execute program roadmaps aligned with Microsoft’s security strategy and customer needs.Champion a culture of Assume Breach readiness by embedding security-first thinking into product development and operations.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on priorities, dependencies, and execution plans.Communicate program status, risks, and outcomes to senior leadership and key stakeholders.Embody our culture and values



Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications

Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.7+ years of experience in program management, product management, or technical leadership roles.6+ years experience delivering complex, cross-team programs in security, cloud services, or enterprise software.4+ yearsexperience of threat modeling, incident response, and security operations.4+ years Experience working with large-scale data systems and analytical frameworks.Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or preferred qualifications

Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years of experience in product/service/project/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.2+ experience in Assume Breach methodologies or red/blue team operations.Familiarity with Microsoft 365 architecture and security controls.Background in data science, graph analytics, or machine learning applied to security.

Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
