Description

Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I) is seeking a Principal Program Manager - Acquisition Support to support the Cloud Infrastructure Acquisition organization. CO+I is responsible for planning, building and operating Microsoft’s cloud infrastructure datacenters across the globe. The organizational scope includes demand and supply planning, business operations and strategic acquisition across land, lease, power, and networking.

To help us accelerate our growth objectives and transformation, we are seeking a dynamic and strategic Principal Program Manager - Acquisition Support to lead a high-impact team focused on supporting acquisitions, leading capital planning, and managing our regional portfolio. Own and manage a global portfolio of real estate assets, ensuring visibility into both speculative and production sites across regions.Drive site due diligence processes, lead go/no-go assessments, manage complex capital projects, drive acquisition approvals processes, and shape regional portfolio strategies. Define and evolve metrics to evaluate program health, delivery velocity, and risk across all infrastructure readiness dimensions.Maintain integrated project schedules across land, energy, and network workstreams—aligned to Microsoft’s capacity roadmap.Facilitate regular reviews with cross-functional teams to validate progress, identify bottlenecks, and align on critical path actions.Drive proactive risk identification and mitigation to protect delivery timelines and enable agile decision-making.Improve program reporting and data systems to support real-time visibility and portfolio-level insights.Lead collaborative planning sessions to align stakeholders, optimize dependencies, and ensure milestone accuracy.Translate complex program challenges into clear action plans using data, systems thinking, and plain language.Promote tool adoption and process improvements that enhance schedule integrity and operational predictability.This role has people management responsibilities, including driving employee growth and development, executing projects, and managing performance.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in real estate, engineering, program management, or a related field AND 6+ years experience in real estate strategy, capital program management, or complex infrastructure delivery.OR equivalent experience.4+ years people management experience.3+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.Track record of success leading global, cross-functional teams in fast-paced, high-growth environments.Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.Preferred Qualifications:

Deep experience managing delivery for capital-intensive projects in datacenter, energy, or other industrial sectors.Effective analytical and systems-thinking capabilities, with a focus on root cause problem solving and risk management.Proven ability to drive clarity and accountability across complex portfolios, with a focus on outcomes and delivery discipline. Technical Program Management M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
