On the broader internet misinformation, hateful, and otherwise unsafe content are continually being created. Our goal is to understand the ever-changing external landscape, translate that into product principles and policies, and then work to make search safer and more responsible. We accomplish this through policy, operations, and technology including recent major advances in the fields of deep learning and natural language processing.

We are looking for a leader who will lead and oversee our safety and moderation operations. In this role you will be responsible for working with a wide variety of stakeholders including legal, and policy owners to define our operational practices. As part of these discussions you will have input to the policies that make for a safer search experience for all users. You will then lead and oversee the operations team that implements these practices.

Influences and engages with cross-functional internal partners, external partners, including senior leadership, and other key stakeholders to gather input and garner support for vision, strategy, and roadmap for moderation and safety. Works across multiple disciplines, to define and influence the long-term vision and strategy for the feature areas based on a deep understanding of customer needs, market and user research, the competitive landscape, and Microsoft’s business goals and strategy. Influence the overall policy and strategy for responsible AI and safety at Microsoft. Owns and partner with others to driving business impact across the organization through shared OKR’s and KPI’s on product safety.Identifies data-informed, short-term, and long-term investment opportunities, evaluates tradeoffs, and prioritizes investments in consultation with cross-functional partners

Qualifications



Required/minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.

Additional or preferred qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree AND 12+ years of experience in product/service/project/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.

Product Management IC6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $161,600 - $286,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $209,600 - $314,400 per year.
