Overview

The Office organization is focused on driving meaningful, sustained engagement across our productivity applications for both free and paid consumers, spanning web and desktop experiences and increasingly powered by Microsoft 365 Copilot. The Office Shared Experiences team is looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead consumer growth across Office applications by deeply understanding customer journeys, identifying opportunities to deliver value at every stage of engagement, and driving systematic, hypothesisdriven experimentation.

This role will focus on driving consumer engagement within the Word, Excel and PowerPoint applications across Windows, Mac and Web platforms. Success in this role will require mapping and optimizing endtoend customer journey funnels across core productivity workflows and Copilot experiences. Impact will be measured through improvements in consumer engagement, retention, and downstream business outcomes, and will require strong analytical thinking, customer empathy, and the ability to translate insights into crisp product and experimentation strategies. Successful applicant(s) will collaborate closely with partners across Office, Copilot, Engineering, Design, Data Science, and Growth teams.

Responsibilities

Define and optimize consumer journey funnels across Office and Copilot experiences. You will map endtoend customer journeys spanning acquisition, activation, engagement, retention, and monetization across free and paid users, identifying key dropoff points and opportunities to deliver customer value within core productivity workflows and Copilotpowered moments.

Lead hypothesisdriven growth experimentation. You will design and run structured experiments across web and desktop surfaces to test interventions at each step of the customer journey, working with Engineering, Design, and Data Science partners to deliver measurable improvements in user engagement and retention.

Translate insights into product strategy and execution. You will synthesize quantitative data, qualitative research, and experimentation learnings into clear product priorities and roadmaps, ensuring that improvements to both core productivity experiences and Copilot are grounded in customer impact and business outcomes.

Communicate outcomes and influence stakeholders. You will clearly articulate strategy, experiment results, and learnings to senior product leaders and crossfunctional partners through product reviews and written narratives, helping align teams around customercentric growth goals.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/program management or software developmentOR equivalent experience.Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with metricsdriven product experimentation, including funnel analysis and multitreatment testing.Experience driving consumer engagement and retention across growth surfaces, including free and paid user experiences.Familiarity with productivity workflows and AIpowered features within applications such as Chat or Copilot. 3+ years of product management experience, including building and shipping user experiences.Proven collaboration skills and ability to work closely with engineering and translate complex technical concepts into product direction.Proven communication skills and the ability to work across teams and disciplines.

Product Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
