Within Azure Data, the databases team builds and maintains Microsoft's operational database systems. We store and manage data in a structured way to enable multitude of applications across various industries. The Principal Product Manager – Agentic Product Experiences role sits at the intersection of data, AI, and user experience transformation. This role is part of the Product Experiences team within Microsoft’s data and AI portfolio, focused on creating intuitive, intelligent, and agent driven user journeys for developers, administrators, and enterprise customers.Microsoft SQL and our broader data platform power 90+% of the Fortune 500 and millions of developers and organizations worldwide, operating at near unlimited scale, concurrency, and performance. Responsibilities
As a Principal Product Manager, you will define and drive the vision, strategy, and execution for agentic and AI native product experiences across Microsoft’s data platform. You will work in a collaborative, highly cross functional environment with engineering, design, research, and marketing partners to deliver world class experiences that simplify complexity, accelerate outcomes, and delight customers.This role requires product leadership, deep customer empathy, technical fluency in data and AI concepts, and the ability to drive impact at scale through influence and clarity. Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software developmentOR equivalent experience.Job Requirements: Other & Additional

Microsoft Cloud Background Check - this position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.Preferred Qualifications
• 10+ years of product management experience, with a track record of delivering and growing enterprise or B2B SaaS products.
• Technical background with experience in data platforms, distributed systems, and AI related concepts.
• Proven ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and collaborate effectively across diverse, global teams.
• Experience building AI driven or agent based user experiences.
• Background in experimentation methodologies, product analytics, and growth loops.
• Experience driving customer satisfaction, platform evolution, and large scale initiatives at a technology company.
• Familiarity with modern data ecosystems and cloud data platforms (e.g., Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake or similar).
• Passion for building products that solve real world customer problems with impact.
AI First Product Vision and Strategy - Own and champion an AI first approach to reimagining user experiences, identifying and delivering intelligent, agent driven features that streamline complex workflows, improve productivity, and reshape how customers work with data.
Experimentation, Growth, and Adoption - Foster a growth and experimentation culture by defining success metrics and running data driven experiments focused on user activation, engagement, retention, and long term value. Use insights to inform product decisions and continuously evolve the experience.
Platform and Experience Improvements - Partner closely with engineering leaders to identify and prioritize platform level improvements across reliability, availability, performance, scalability, and experience quality—ensuring enterprise grade trust and usability.
Customer Focus and Voice of the Customer - Develop deep understanding of customer needs, workflows, and pain points through direct engagement, feedback, and research. Translate customer insights into clear product direction, roadmap priorities, and actionable outcomes.
Cross Functional Leadership - Lead through influence across engineering, design, research, and marketing to align on product vision and strategy. Communicate clearly with stakeholders, drive alignment, and ensure successful execution and launch of complex initiatives.
Product Excellence and Craft - Model product management excellence by applying judgment, structured thinking, and a growth mindset. Contribute to elevating product practices, mentoring peers, and shaping the broader product culture.

Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
