Description
OverviewAs a Senior Product Manager on our Xbox Consumer Commerce Platform team, you will define and deliver core commerce services and tools that enable customer purchase experiences and transactions at scale. You’ll work closely with engineering, product, and business teams across geographies (India, North America, Asia, Europe) to build scalable, reliable, and privacy-compliant solutions that meet customer needs and business goals. We are looking for someone who can thrive in ambiguity, lead through influence and empathy, and consistently deliver results in a fast-paced environment. You will be a key player in ensuring our commerce platform remains secure, compliant, and high-performing while evolving to support new business models and marketplace features.
Responsibilities
Define Product Requirements: Translate ambiguous customer and business needs into clear, actionable product requirements, and maintain a data-driven product roadmap that aligns with our commerce strategy and vision.Drive Scalable Solutions: Partner closely with engineering to design scalable, reliable, and privacy-by-design architectures and solutions for commerce data and services. Ensure that systems meet global performance and compliance standards, supporting millions of users and transactions.Program Execution & Delivery: Lead end-to-end program planning and execution for new features and improvements. Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure on-time delivery with high quality and establish metrics/KPIs to track the impact and success of launches.Global Stakeholder Collaboration: Facilitate collaboration across teams and stakeholders in multiple time zones. Run effective communications and forums (stand-ups, design reviews, steering meetings) to keep engineering, business, and regional teams aligned and informed.Product Strategy & Roadmap: Contribute to and execute the product strategy for core commerce capabilities (e.g. order management, subscription lifecycle, payment and billing tools). Continuously evaluate priorities and trade-offs across competing initiatives, focusing on what delivers the most customer value and business impact.Decision Making & Trade-offs: Drive prioritization and trade-off decisions by combining customer feedback, data insights, and business objectives. Clearly articulate rationale for decisions to stakeholders at all levels, from engineers to executives.Customer/Partner Engagement: Work directly with global internal partners and external collaborators to gather requirements, refine use cases, and ensure successful adoption of new platform features. Build relationships that facilitate smooth integration of our commerce platform with other products and channels.Adaptability & Innovation: Proactively identify opportunities to improve our commerce platform – from process optimizations to introducing new technologies (e.g. leveraging AI/ML for personalization or fraud detection). Champion a culture of continuous improvement, experimentation, and learning within the team.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
8+ years of relevant experience in product management or technical program management, including experience with backend or commerce platforms.3+ years of experience engaging directly with external customers or partners for requirements, support, and feature delivery.Proven ability to work hands-on with engineering teams on complex, technical systems – you can understand architecture trade-offs and ensure technical solutions align with product goals.Communication and storytelling skills with both technical and non-technical audiences. Able to convey complex ideas clearly and tailor messages to different stakeholders (including executives).Profiecient in organizational and project leadership skills. Detail-oriented, with a bias for action and problem-solving to unblock teams and drive progress.Customer-obsessed mindset – always advocates for the end-user experience and value. Demonstrated track record of delivering products or features that delight customers.Comfortable working in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment. Adaptable and resilient in the face of change, with the ability to bring clarity and direction to uncertain or evolving scenarios.Willingness to flex work hours occasionally to collaborate with worldwide team members and stakeholders in different time zones.Data-driven decision making skills – able to analyze product data or user insights to inform roadmap decisions and measure outcomes.Exposure to AI-driven product management – for example, integrating AI/ML features into a product or using AI insights to drive decision-making and personalization.
Product Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
