The Azure High Performance Computing & Artificial Intelligence (HPC & AI) compute platform team defines and delivers the hardware roadmap, software, and services that enable our users to run technical computing workloads in Azure – extreme scale AI training and inference including large language models, traditional HPC modelling and simulations, remote visualization, and immersive gaming experiences. We are responsible for providing Azure customers with supercomputer-class capabilities to accelerate their research, drive competitive differentiation, and finding answers to some of the most difficult questions of science and industry.We are looking for a Senior Product Manager who has a proven track record working with complex and distributed engineering systems that are used in sophisticated organizations and environments. This role will work closely with others to drive the vision and execution of world-class AI infrastructure, empowering leading customers and models to achieve breakthrough results in a friction-free experience. Azure HPC & AI product group is looking for a dedicated and technically adept Technical Program Manager (TPM) to support the design, development and deployment of automated workflows for managing our global fleet of clusters. You will help shape the future of intelligent automation by supporting the development and deployment of AI agents to assist with diagnostics, decision making and workflow automation.

• Defines the feature set and partners with Design teams to connect
multiple design factors (UX, APIs, hardware design) to desired functionality and product vision. Anticipates interoperability challenges between different components or layers in the stack, such as UX and API layer differences.
• Collaborates with partner teams to build golden configurations and drives scenario walkthroughs and thought exercises to identify problems, system friction, and needed contingencies in advance of early customer adoption. Collaborates with internal partners to synthesize, prioritize, and address feedback to drive improvement.
• Partners with others (e.g., Data Science, Software Engineering) to define and collect performance metrics, monitor and report on progress, and derive deep insights and drive productive courses of action to improve product/feature development, iteration, and implementation.
• Leverages data and AI tools to analyze user behavior or feedback, working with data scientists or engineering to implement AI-driven improvements.
• Incorporates security factors into design, including logging posture, permissions minimization, and security-by-default principles.
• Owns the roadmap for multiple feature areas, prioritizes the backlog, and aligns with SWE/HWE on tradeoffs.
• Starts to build systems and frameworks to enable the team to scale for a product area, ensuring alignment between roadmap and OKRs/KPIs.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years experience in product / service / program management or software development OR equivalent experience.Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years experience in product / service / program management or software development OR equivalent experience.2+ years experience taking a product, feature, or experience to market (e.g., design, addressing product market fit, and launch, internal tool/framework) and improving metrics for a product, feature, or experience.Excellent written and verbal communication and partnership skills across a diverse set of audiences and stakeholders.A growth-mindset that enables creativity in thinking, strong analytical skills, an ability to deal with ambiguity, management of changing priorities, and consistency in learning from others.Passion for solving complex problems with engineering solutions that optimize both the product and customer experience.2+ years experience managing or leading cross-functional hardware programs involving coordination with multiple stakeholders, tracking KPIs, and enhancing the overall customer experience.Product Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
