Description

Are you excited to help transform AI within Teams? The Teams Core Client team is at the forefront of this transformation, building agent experiences in the desktop client and developing the shared AI infrastructure that powers them. We collaborate closely with Microsoft AI, Microsoft Research, Windows, Microsoft 365, and other partners to bring these experiences to life.

As a Principal Product Manager in this role, you will partner with top-notch designers, engineers and product leaders across the company to architect and evolve the MCP-based AI infrastructure to enable at-scale agentic experiences. This includes skill orchestration, agent-to-agent interactions, and the fusion of local and cloud-based SLMs/LLMs. You will collaborate to craft intelligent experiences that improve user and admin productivity and delight. Beyond AI, you’ll contribute to a broader charter that includes the Teams clients for Windows, Mac, and Web, as well as areas like Notifications, Authentication and Identity, Cross-tenant and Cross-cloud Collaboration, and Admin tools for managing client health. This role offers the rare chance to drive impact at the heart of Microsoft’s AI evolution while also leading strategic efforts in the Web client. This position is based in Puget Sound, with some flexibility for remote work.

Evolve and communicate the long-term vision and strategy for the infrastructure that supports AI and agentic experiences within the Microsoft Teams clients.Lead and drive targeted initiatives in the Teams Web Client.Make outstanding product experiences, define new features and capabilities, and work across disciplines to bring these experiences to customers.Develop a deep understanding of customer feedback and drive solutions to address dissatisfaction and unmet needs.Work with creative and technical peers to develop plans, prototypes, experiments, and specs.Create healthy partnerships and working relationships, within our team and across Microsoft. And, partner with cross-company leaders to ensure successful delivery of the product roadmap. Define success metrics, design and conduct A/B tests, and measure and report the impact on OKRs.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software developmentOR equivalent experience.Experience in leading large-scale, cross-functional initiatives in AI experiences or AI Infrastructure.3+ years experience engaging deeply with engineering teams, understanding architectural trade-offs, and driving strategic technical decisions.3+ years experience creating and delivering effective communications and presentations, showcasing your ability to communicate complex ideas and technical details to others, including leadership, in a clear, effective, and motivating manner. Along with compelling influencing and stakeholder management skills. Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to align a disparate set of teams on a common strategy, goals, and set of objectives. And generate energy, create clarity, and deliver success across customer, product, business, and culture.Organizational skills and ability to prioritize effectively, coupled with ability to deal with ambiguity and adjust business priorities in a rapidly evolving environment.Self-starter and innovator with a collaborative, can-do attitude and bias for action, with curiosity and ability to ramp up on new technologies and products quickly.Customer-focused approach to product and feature design with solid understanding of user experience possibilities.Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
