Microsoft’s Azure Data engineering team is leading the transformation of analytics in the world of data with products like databases, data integration, big data analytics, messaging & real-time analytics, and business intelligence. The products our portfolio include Microsoft Fabric, Azure SQL DB, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure PostgreSQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Service Bus, Azure Event Grid, and Power BI. Within Azure Data, the databases team builds and maintains Microsoft's operational Database systems. We store and manage data in a structured way to enable multitude of applications across various industries. We are on a journey to enable developer friendly, mission-critical, AI enabled operational Databases across relational, non-relational and OSS offerings.

The Fabric Data Team is hiring a Senior Product Manager who will define and execute the product roadmap of a data platform.

• Customer Feedback and Iteration: Capture, analyze, and prioritize customer feedback to continuously improve product offerings. Develop and refine OKRs, platform feature enhancements, and functional specifications.

• Requirement Gathering and Specification: Collect and analyze customer requirements, formulate objectives, and develop detailed specifications for new features and products.

• Technical Product Management: partner closely with engineering teams to create, update or review data schemas, data models, platform architecture and technical solutions that answer customer needs.

• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with analytics, engineering and product teams to ensure seamless platform development and launch. Foster strong partnerships with stakeholders to align on product vision and goals.

• Process and Documentation: Manage and document product management processes, ensuring clarity and consistency. Maintain comprehensive records of product specifications, user stories, and feedback.

• Leadership and Influence: Demonstrate leadership by driving a customer-obsessed, growth mindset culture within the team. Lead by example and inspire others to achieve excellence.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.4+ years product management experience on a data platform or a cloud computing platform. Experience in technical design. Including but not limited to creating and reviewing data schemas or data models, platform architecture.

Other Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

• This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree AND 7+ years of experience in product/service/project/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.Experience working with telemetry data and business analytics. Product Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
