Description

Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and Windows 365 are fundamentally changing the nature of personal computing, pushing technology in the cloud to make remote experiences better, more secure, and easier to manage than local. Hand in hand, the pandemic has driven an explosion of remote and hybrid work.  Azure Virtual Desktop and Windows 365 are growing explosively and, together with our partners, enabling a wide variety of cloud experiences.  The team is hiring a Principal Product Manager to drive innovations and workstreams to improve the Windows experiences streamed from the cloud.

As a Principal Product Manager, you will lead work that is fundamental to the end user experience, help deliver on customer expectations, and differentiate AVD from competitors. This role requires a passion for customer experience and an ability to deeply collaborate with partner teams across multiple Microsoft divisions and with external industry partners to build a variety of experiences tailored to the individual partner scenario needs. You will gather requirements from internal and external partners and synthesize them into a clear roadmap that provides focus for your engineers.

Help chart the course for the cloud experience working with architects and partner teams both within Microsoft and across the industry.Maintain an unwavering focus on our customers expressing current needs and future direction.Work in close partnership with a team of diverse and talented peers in various disciplines including design, hardware, Program Management, Software Development, business development, and marketing for sustained long-term success.Partner with the architects and the technical leadership team to deliver reliable & sustainable technical designs.Closely collaborate with partner teams when engineering & business dependencies exist.Obsess over customers. In this case your customers are both end users empowered by your solutions as well as your partner engineers seeking to build these solutions.Lead teams through rapid growth, evolving customer needs, and navigating complex industry dynamics. Love working in an environment where you are constantly learning and iterating quickly.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software developmentOR equivalent experience.Experience working with Virtual Desktop Interface (VDI) software/services or networking protocols.Knowledge of the Virtual Desktop Interface (VDI) market and industry.Other Requirements

Candidates must be able to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements that are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with Azure-based services.  Experience working directly with internal and external stakeholders, partners and customers.Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
