The AI Development Experience and Growth team focuses on making sure that the Microsoft's portfolio of AI tools and capabilities are well understood by developers, easy to use and geared towards making developers' lives better no matter where they are. As a Principal Product Manager, you will leverage your deep knowledge of consumer experiences and UI design to lead a dynamic team in creating impactful products. Your role is crucial in understanding and addressing the diverse needs of different user personas, from our classic enterprise clients to a new wave of developers coming to Azure for the first time. By guiding your team in analyzing customer feedback and market trends, you'll drive the development of features that enhance user experience and meet market demands.

You will play a pivotal role in empowering developers globally to become AI developers, aligning with our vision of democratizing AI technology. Your leadership will be instrumental in shaping the product strategy and ensuring that our tools and features enable developers to effectively utilize AI in their projects. You’ll work closely with engineering, Data Science, and various stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions that support this goal.

In this high-visibility role, you'll collaborate with Azure AI leadership and cross-functional teams to define and execute the product roadmap. Your expertise will help influence and align complex organizational priorities, ensuring that our products deliver a significant business impact. Through effective communication and strategic guidance, you’ll drive the success of our initiatives and contribute to the overall mission of making AI accessible and empowering for every developer.

As a Principal Product Manager on our team, you will significantly impact our products and customers. You’ll lead a team of Product and Technical Program Managers, collaborate with engineering and Data Science teams, and work with various Azure stakeholders. You’ll design, deliver, and iterate on new tools, applications, and features, with high visibility and support from Azure leadership.

Key responsibilities include:

Identifying customer needs and market opportunities through data analysis and feedback.Leading experiments to test new features and guide prioritization and execution.Providing strategic guidance to shape long-term vision and strategy based on market research and business goals.Developing feature specifications and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.Influencing leadership and aligning complex organizational structures.Defining success metrics and partnering with engineering teams on feature design and user experience.Working with Product Marketing, Business Planning, and Engineering to develop release criteria and marketing strategies.Managing investment opportunities and contributing to agile development practices.Other:

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years of experience in product/service/project/program management or software developmentOR equivalent experience.4+ years of people management experience.Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years of experience in product/service/project/program management or software developmentOR equivalent experience. 4+ years of experience in launching and scaling consumer applications to large online audiences.Product Management M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
