Within Azure Data, the databases team builds and maintains Microsoft's operational Database systems. We store and manage data in a structured way to enable multitude of applications across various industries. We are on a journey to enable developer friendly, mission-critical, AI enabled operational Databases across relational, non-relational and OSS offerings.
We are the Security and Compliances (S&C) team, and our mission is to bring the most innovative security portfolios to Azure database services so customers can deploy all their workloads securely and with minimal initial configuration on-prem, in the cloud, and in between, wherever their business takes them. We focus on:
Developing and shipping industry-leading, differentiated security capabilities such as Always Encrypted or SQL ledger.Integrating with the latest foundational technologies provided by our partner teams such as Azure Key Vault for key management, Identity Management for modern authentication, Microsoft Purview for data governance, and Azure A.I. to make securing databases more intuitive and mor effective.We are hiring a principal-level product manager (Network Security PM) who leads requirements gathering, customer outreach, and development of network security features and solutions for the Azure database services. This role requires a deep understanding of network security fundamentals such as firewalls, VPNs, TLS, authentication, access control, and network segmentation to secure and control traffic flow and govern access to resources in different networks. The Network Security PM is expected to learn customer pain points and market trends and must possess the ability to translate these insights into innovative feature offerings. The Network Security PM will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, sales, marketing, and customer support, to ensure the success of the released features.

The network security PM is responsible for:
Leading the development and enhancement of network security features for SQL and other database services.Defining the product strategy and roadmap for network security in database services.Working closely with engineering, marketing, and sales teams to ensure the successful launch and adoption of network security features and solutions.Engaging with customers using internal and external channels to understand their security needs and incorporate feedback into product development.Leveraging adoption reports and feature telemetry to prioritize customer engagements and create outreach campaigns.Promoting security with customers at conferences, workshops, and in meetings with analysts.Helping us assess and evaluate emerging trends network security.Embody our culture and values
Qualifications
Required/Minimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree AND 5+ years' experience in product/service/project/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.Other Requirements

This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.Preferred/Additional Qualifications
Experience in the network security or cybersecurity industry.Proven track record of successfully launching and managing network security products.Proficient technical background with the ability to understand and discuss complex technical concepts.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.Product Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
