Description

Join the Windows Fundamentals team in shaping the future of silicon integration, fundamentals, and security across the Windows ecosystem. As a Principal Product Manager, you will drive strategic initiatives that span silicon and system fundamentals, ensuring that we advance our platform capabilities and offer customers a trusted and secure experience. You will work with a talented team, collaborate with engineering and business leaders, and partner with internal and external stakeholders including silicon vendors and OEMs.

This role benefits from a solid understanding of system architecture across silicon, firmware, and OS layers, and a proven ability to drive alignment across internal engineering teams and external partners including IHVs, OEMs, and ODMs. As a key stakeholder in the product lifecycle, you will collaborate closely with silicon architects, Windows OS platform teams, and Microsoft 365 app teams to define and deliver an end-to-end optimized device experience. Strategic & Technical Leadership: Define and drive the vision, strategy, and roadmap for silicon and Windows platform investments that accelerate our ability to innovate while improving fundamentals and security. Lead planning and execution of complex, cross-functional programs with a focus on measurable impact and engineering excellence. Champion customer-focused strategy and data-driven decision-making.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engage deeply with partners across Windows and Microsoft and with external silicon IHVs and OEMs. Influence and align stakeholders across disciplines and geographies to achieve shared goals.Execution Excellence: Deliver high-quality improvements in silicon and platform, balancing short-term wins with long-term investments. Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.Experience with system-level performance, power, or silicon fundamentals.Familiarity with the System-on-Chip (SOC) hardware architecture and software for SOC.Experience with AI/ML systems, fundamentals, or performance engineering.Experience building innovative, customer-obsessed products.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree AND 12+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.4+ years experience taking a product, feature, or experience to market (e.g., design, addressing product market fit, and launch, internal tool/framework).6+ years experience improving product metrics for a product, feature, or experience in a market (e.g., growing customer base, expanding customer usage, avoiding customer churn).6+ years experience disrupting a market for a product, feature, or experience (e.g., competitive disruption, taking the place of an established competing product).Proven track record of shipping high volume consumer devices.Well-rounded communication skills required, including the ability to clearly express technical and team leadership related concepts in verbal and written forms.Demonstrated ability to drive and execute strategic plans; influence strategies across multiple stakeholders considering synergies with other products, cultures, and geographies.Proven experience with negotiating with stakeholders at higher organizational levels (internally and/or externally) to drive decisive actions and orchestrate meaningful business and customer/client outcomes.

Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
