Description

Microsoft 365 Copilot is a groundbreaking productivity tool that leverages the power of large language models, user data, Microsoft Graph, and the web to drive unparalleled creativity and productivity. At the heart of this innovation is the Office AI team, which plays a crucial role in the aid of development of Copilot experiences in Office apps like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and assists teams across Microsoft. We own the infrastructure and base AI platform that enables complex orchestration of Copilot workflows to put powerful AI capabilities at the user’s fingertips.  

The Office AI team is looking for an “AI first” and entrepreneurial Principal Product Manager to help innovate and deliver at an accelerated pace new Copilot Experiences in the suite of Copilot products. We are operating in a start-up mode with high velocity and intensity. In this role, you will take initiative and deliver world-class experiences and products in a fast-paced environment to help build the next wave of productivity as part of Microsoft 365 Copilot.

In this role as a Principal Product Manager, you will balance creativity, curiosity, technical expertise and passion for AI to drive projects to successful completion. You will collaboratively work with data scientists, AI researchers, engineers, designers, and product managers to take ambiguous projects and mold them into amazing experiences to delight our customers. You will be responsible for driving the product vision and strategy and ensuring that that from the get go there are clear evaluation criteria to verify the efficacy of the application & tuning of models. Your role will involve ensuring privacy, safety and security of data, stakeholder management, and the ability to make data-driven decisions that align with the company’s goals.

This role is based in Redmond, WA.

Lead a team through the ideation, technical development, and launch of innovative products.  Drive product development with a team of world-class engineers and designers.  Establish shared vision across the company by building consensus on priorities leading to product execution.  Define and analyze metrics that inform the success of products.  Understand Microsoft’s strategic and competitive position as part of the Microsoft 365 Copilot initiative and deliver products that are recognized best in the industry.  Maximize for speed, effectiveness + efficiency, & learning in a constantly evolving environment where the process is fluid and creative solutions are the norm.  Identify and initiate opportunities for new areas. Create trusted partnerships and working relationships, within our team and across Microsoft. And, partner with cross-company leaders to ensure successful delivery of the product roadmap. 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product management or software development OR equivalent experience. Experience building products in the AI space, including practical knowledge of large language models (LLMs) and their real-world applications. 5+ years of product management experience including building and scaling API-driven and enterprise software products. Experience prototyping and experimenting with emerging AI use cases, translating technical possibilities into customer value.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years of experience in product management or software development OR equivalent experience. Product management experience across both consumer and enterprise domains. Technical experience with understanding of API architecture and integration patterns. Demonstrated experience successfully launching and scaling enterprise API products

Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
