Description
OverviewAt Mojang Studios, the creators of Minecraft, we are on a mission to build a better world through the power of play.
Why play? Well, play is at the heart of everything we do. It’s the blocky backbone of our games, the core of our development philosophy, and even the origin of our name. From the relentless experimentation of our endlessly inspiring community to the classrooms where Minecraft has become an essential teaching tool, play is the bedrock of our existence.
We enable millions to create and play together, connect people across the globe, and foster a community that is among the most active and passionate in the world. Our community is global and incredibly diverse. When we are developing anything within our franchise, we keep this in mind. We want everyone to not only feel included in Minecraft, but also to see themselves in what we make. Our goal is for the Mojang Studios team to be as diverse as our community.
Minecraft Education is Microsoft’s flagship learning platform built on the Bedrock codebase, designed for classrooms, educators, and educational institutions worldwide. Its mission is to empower every student to achieve more by transforming learning through play, creativity, and collaboration. This role provides senior product leadership for strategy and execution across the Education platform, ensuring the delivery of secure, reliable, and innovative experiences that scale globally.
The Principal Product Manager in Minecraft Education plays a critical leadership role at the intersection of product strategy, technical platform ownership, and execution. This role owns end‑to‑end product outcomes across highly complex, cross‑team initiatives, including EDU‑specific platform services, multiplayer and server infrastructure, and compliance‑driven scenarios. You will partner closely with engineering, design, partner teams, and cross‑functional leadership to align technical execution with product and business strategy. Operating with high autonomy and broad scope, you will help shape long‑term direction while driving clarity and momentum across workstreams that impact millions of learners worldwide. Success in this role requires strong technical judgment and comfort operating in ambiguity, making high‑impact tradeoffs across architectural constraints, operational realities, and customer needs.
This is a position that demands product sense, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence decisions across organizational boundaries. As a Principal Product Manager at Microsoft, you will set direction, model product excellence, and inspire confidence across diverse stakeholders.
In the end, it’s the people of Mojang Studios that make this place truly special. When you join, you’ll find yourself in the company of incredibly bright, warm, and creative individuals – all united and working toward a single goal. Come help us reach it!
