Responsibilities
Join the Microsoft Foundry team as we redefine model-forward development and unlock the next wave of innovation in generative AI. We are building the industry’s leading model serving platform, empowering customer applications and agents with unmatched reliability, performance, and flexibility.
We are looking to hire a Principal Product Manager to join our group and help us lead the next generation of Azure Direct models offerings. As a Principal Product Manager, you will lead the integration and onboarding of OpenAI Models to Foundry Models, ensuring customers can access the latest OpenAI IP from day 0.
  
In this role, you will:
Lead the model launch program for OpenAI models, ensuring technical excellence at unmatched scale and velocity.Drive the model release backlog and roadmap, prioritizing across the needs of our customers and partners for Foundry Direct on Azure Models to drive the highest customer impact.Ensure Microsoft Engineering teams can release with the newest models on the same day, with clear executive alignment and communications.OpenAI Knowledge Transfer program owner: As point of contact for model releases with OpenAI, you will work across all our internal partners to ensure we have a smooth knowledge transfer program.Improve the launch program investing in clear metrics, automation, and operating models.Collaborate with engineering, marketing, sales, and support to delivery successful launches.Provide clarity in ambiguous environments, influence stakeholders, and foster a culture of innovation and accountability.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience. Other Requirements
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications
10+ years of experience in product development. Including delivering one or more AI, cloud services, enterprise grade solutions, and mobile apps   Proven success in launching and scaling multi-million dollar revenue products, ideally in AI, ML, or platform domains.Technical fluency in model performance evaluation, usability, and integration strategies.Release management proficiency across multiple back end & front end engineering teams.Identifying and automating opportunities in processes to enable team to scale faster.Stakeholder management capabilities, you’ll be working across a spectrum of teams in hyperscaling platform through to marketing and comms.Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex dependencies.Ability to thrive in fast-paced dynamic environments with a bias for action.Agility as circumstances change rapidly.Growing and investing in team culture and developing TPM skills in others.
Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
