Description

The Office organization is not just bringing Microsoft 365 Copilot into each of our productivity applications; we are evolving it to be a proactive experience that anticipates user needs and delivers user delight. The Office Shared Experiences team is looking for a Product Manager II who will help lead this transformation of Chat from a passive experience that waits for a user prompt to one that leads the conversation with users in Word, PowerPoint and Excel at carefully chosen moments and contexts. Success in this role will be measured both in terms of engagement and retention growth, so we are looking for candidates with prior experience in building delightful user experiences and metrics-driven growth experimentation. This role will require creativity, curiosity and a willingness to experiment and learn from data. Successful applicant(s) will collaborate closely with product teams across Office and E+D.

Define and deliver targeted auto-open experiences with Chat pane in Office. You will identify key customer journey moments and user scenarios where Chat can proactively deliver value across Word, PowerPoint and Excel. You will lead a cross-discipline feature crew spanning Engineering, Design and UX Research to deliver a thoughtful and polished user experience. Experiment, learn, and iterate by running metrics-driven growth experiments that track adoption, engagement and retention. You will analyze results and drive an iterative feature crew process to respond quickly to insights in data. Communicate project outcomes and insights effectively to product leaders and the broader organization, across product reviews and broad written communication. Educate and mentor colleagues on state-of-the-art research techniques and best practices, especially those without a research background. Champion a culture of inclusion, innovation, and accountability in alignment with Microsoft’s mission and values.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development OR equivalent experience. 2+ years of product management experience, including building and shipping user experiences. Proven collaboration skills and ability to work closely with engineering and translate complex technical concepts into product direction. Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.Preferred Qualifications:

Proven communication skills and the ability to work across teams and disciplines. Familiarity with metrics-driven product experimentation, including multi-treatment testing. Experience with building user experiences around Chat or AI features within applications. Experience building enterprise productivity applications, and familiarity with enterprise product lifecycle and manageability expectations. Product Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
