Azure Storage team delivers object storage (Azure Blob Storage), shared storage (Azure Files) and block storage (Azure Disks) to enable developers to build scalable, durable, and highly available cloud native and AI applications for a wide range of storage needs for modern cloud architectures. We are looking to hire a Senior Product Manager - Azure Storage to join our team. You will play a vital role in shaping and driving security capabilities for Azure Storage. These storage capabilities are leveraged not only by Microsoft’s customers but also other Microsoft teams including CoPilot, Office, Windows, Xbox and many more. Azure Storage scales to handle exabytes of data and has diverse usage ranging from mission critical workloads on active data, cutting-edge AI/ML learning and analytics to hyperscale big data insights. Through this role, you can be part of a strategic team with Microsoft and industry-wide impact.

Security is one of the most critical priorities for our customers in an ever-changing landscape of digital threats, regulatory scrutiny, and data estate complexity. As a product manager on Azure Storage, you will be integral to shaping security for our core layers and be part of a team building a platform that sets the standard for scale, reliability, and security in cloud storage, powered by cutting-edge distributed systems technology. You will understand customer scenarios, challenges, identify product feature requirements and drive product vision and strategy. You will collaborate with diverse engineering and cross-org partner teams to design, implement, and ship new features for Azure Storage security areas such as authentication, authorization, network security and encryption.

Drive large cross-team and cross-org security initiatives and programs in collaboration with internal and external partner stakeholders and end-to-end ownership of feature/capability deliveryEngage with customers and partners, to deeply understand customer scenarios, security landscape and needs, deep technical storage requirements and identify feature requirements.Outline End-to-end customer experience including REST API and interfaces, work closely with engineering teams for design, implementation and release plan, coordinate execution and report on progress, issues and risksDrive preview programs to gather customer feedback for early validation and close product feedback loop between customers and engineering.Be the trusted advisor and SME for Azure Blob Storage security for our customers and partners, produce relevant security collateral, architecture examples, and best practice guides.Drive product adoption, growth, and retention through effective go-to-market strategies, product positioning, and messaging, measure and monitor product performance, usage, and feedback, and iterate based on data and insights.Understand storage market landscape, customer demand, and competitive offerings for security, define and evangelize the product vision, strategy, and value proposition to internal and external stakeholders.Other:

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software developmentOR equivalent experience.5+ years experience in Security (Authentication/Authorization, Network security, Encryption).5+ years of experience includes working on or with one or more of the following:

Driving Large and complex cross-team and cross-org programs in collaboration with internal and external partners

Object storage services and platforms, storage protocols, clients, tools, API, libraries

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree AND 7+ years of experience in product/service/project/program managementOR software developmentOR equivalent experience.

Product Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
