Overview

The Azure Deployments and Change Safety team is looking for a Senior Product Manager - Azure Core to shape the future of how developers inside Microsoft build and deploy some of the largest services in the world. We own Azure’s flagship open-source IaC tooling, including the Bicep language, Azure’s Terraform experience (AzureRM and AzAPI providers), and the internal deployment orchestrators that power Azure at scale.

In this role, you’ll drive high-impact capabilities across the internal deployments ecosystem (a set of custom tooling built specifically for deploying Azure's most complex services) as well as systems for ensuring changes are happening safely. You’ll partner directly with Azure service teams to deliver secure, efficient, planet-scale deployment experiences. You’ll own the full product lifecycle—customer discovery, roadmap definition, feature delivery, and adoption insights—while collaborating across engineering, design, and PM to solve complex technical challenges. You will also have several opportunities to bring these currently internal technologies to our largest external customers. Responsibilities

Define and drive product requirements by translating customer needs, insights, and business goals into clear, actionable specifications.Partner with engineering, design, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality features on time and aligned with product strategy.Engage directly with customers and internal stakeholders to validate scenarios, gather feedback, and represent the voice of the customer.Use data, telemetry, and customer signals to measure feature adoption, identify opportunities, and guide product decisions.Manage feature execution end-to-end, from planning and prioritization through launch, documentation, and post-release iteration.Communicate status, risks, and decisions effectively to maintain alignment across teams and ensure shared understanding of product direction.Contribute to long-term product vision and roadmap, supporting the development of multi-release plans and strategic investments.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/program management or software developmentOR equivalent experience.Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/program management or software developmentOR equivalent experience.2+ years experience taking a product, feature, or experience to market (e.g., design, addressing product market fit, and launch, internal tool/framework).4+ years experience improving product metrics for a product, feature, or experience in a market (e.g., growing customer base, expanding customer usage, avoiding customer churn).4+ years experience disrupting a market for a product, feature, or experience (e.g., competitive disruption, taking the place of an established competing product). 1+ years experience working on Developer tooling1+ years experience working on adoption of large-scale initiatives across a large number (10+) of internal teams/stakeholders

Product Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
