Description

The Azure Developer Experience Growth team is seeking a Principal Product Manager (PM) Architect to define and own long-term product vision & strategy, architecture, and multi-year roadmap for agentic artificial intelligence (AI) platform experiences and tools that accelerate application migration & modernization toward Microsoft Azure’s developer-centric cloud application platform. A Principal PM Architect operates at the intersection of product strategy, architecture, and execution, owning a domain and magnifying the impact of others through leadership, clarity, and alignment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in complex, cross-functional environments, and can drive technical vision, customer outcomes, and organizational influence. This highly influential position will impact Microsoft’s platform business globally through the delivery of a comprehensive set of agentic AI capabilities, broad evangelism across stakeholders, and associated platform growth.

Our application platform is comprised of Azure App Service, Azure Functions, Azure Container Apps, Azure API Management, Azure Logic Apps, and more. Developer tools to build on that platform include Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, GitHub, Azure DevOps, GitHub Copilot, and more. We are focused on maximizing developer productivity while maintaining strict security, reliability, and scalability standards. The Growth team is responsible for advancing the platform's growth by partnering with diverse internal and external stakeholders. Through a comprehensive understanding of customer and sales workforce requirements, the team identifies and prioritizes essential product capabilities that expedite cloud migration and modernization. Additionally, the team effectively communicates the platform's value and competitive advantages, while equipping customers and field sellers with differentiated AI-driven experiences, tools, and guidance.

One aspect of our charter is to deliver a reciprocal collaboration process with the Azure sales force (the “field”). To be successful partnering with the field we need to provide them with the right tools and content catered to what customers are expecting to see and which will accelerate their journey to build new and migrate & modernize existing Enterprise-grade applications on the platform. Collectively, this work delivers a range of tailored agentic AI experiences designed to streamline Java and .NET application migration and modernization, addressing even the most complex Enterprise requirements. By minimizing cost, time, and manual effort, these experiences accelerate IT, development, operations, and database activities both at the application level and across the entire estate.

Our customers increasingly expect AI-assisted, end-to-end, full-stack experiences that support them throughout their journey to modernize their application estate on the cloud. Our priority is to build holistic AI experiences that developers and operators love and Enterprises trust.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and a keen understanding of the cloud technology stack, software product development, as well as the marketplace. They will be able to work with Azure engineering, product managers, and customer-facing field sellers and be able to “translate” issues and concerns on both sides. They will effectively communicate with senior leaders and negotiate product investments.

Collaborate with product management, engineering, marketing, field sales, market research, and analytics and engage deeply with customers to inform and prioritize product opportunities Define long-term product portfolio vision and strategy and own multi-year, multi-horizon roadmaps with incremental value delivery Design composable and extensible capabilities that can scale through Partners Align and oversee cross-functional product management, engineering, design, and marketing to deliver cohesive, end-to-end experiences that span products Iterate continually to measure investment impact and ensure roadmap alignment with evolving customer needs and business goals
