Responsibilities
We are looking for a curious, motivated, and analytically minded Product Manager to join the Microsoft Threat Protection team. In this role, you will help shape the future of collaboration security by contributing to the product vision, defining features that leverage AI and machine learning to stop evolving threats, and working closely with engineering, data science, design, and security research teams to deliver world-class protection to our customers.
This is an early-career opportunity for someone with 1–5 years of professional experience who is passionate about cybersecurity, AI, and building products that make a real-world impact at massive scale. You will be mentored by senior product leaders while taking meaningful ownership of features and workstreams from day one.
Contribute to the product roadmap for email and collaboration threat protection features within Microsoft Defender for Office 365.Define and write clear product specifications and requirements for AI-driven detection and response capabilities, working with engineering and data science partners.Conduct customer research — interviews, surveys, telemetry analysis, and support escalation reviews — to understand user pain points and identify opportunities.Analyze threat landscape trends, competitive offerings, and security industry developments to inform product strategy and prioritization decisions.Collaborate cross-functionally with design, engineering, security research, marketing, and support teams to deliver features from concept through launch.Support go-to-market activities including writing customer-facing documentation, preparing product demos, and contributing to blog posts and announcements.Stay current on AI/ML advancements and cybersecurity trends, proactively identifying how emerging technologies can strengthen our protection capabilities.
Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications:Bachelor's DegreeOR equivalent experience.Preferred qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.1+ year(s) experience improving product metrics for a product, feature, or experience in a market (e.g., growing customer base, expanding customer usage, avoiding customer churn).1+ year(s) experience disrupting a market for a product, feature, or experience (e.g., competitive disruption, taking the place of an established competing product).Other Requirements

This position will be required to pass the Microsoft background and Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Product Management IC2 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $84,200 - $165,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $109,000 - $180,400 per year.
