You will help shape how people engage with trusted content across Microsoft 365, extending SharePoint experiences across everyday apps, devices, and surfaces. This includes creating new AI powered experiences as well as integrating intelligence assisted capabilities that help users stay informed and act with confidence.
As a SharePoint Product Designer, you will collaborate closely with design, product management, research, and engineering to define and deliver core AI user experiences in SharePoint. SharePoint is Microsoft’s foundational platform for content, communication, and employee engagement, enabling organizations to share knowledge, stay aligned, and scale company wide communications. You will conceptualize and design thoughtful solutions that balance simplicity with the complexity of large scale information systems.
Your work will span areas such as navigation, information architecture, content hierarchy, authoring experiences, and interaction models. You will also explore how AI assisted capabilities can reduce cognitive load, surface relevant information, and help users take meaningful action within their daily workflow.

Responsibilities
Design end-to-end user experiences across the product lifecycle, from early concepts to shipped features.Contribute to interaction oriented workflows, including content creation, publishing, discovery, and management experiences.Explore and design AI assisted and intelligence powered interactions such as recommendations, suggestions, and automation, while maintaining clarity, trust, and user control.Utilize AI prototyping tools to bring concepts to life and gather rapid feedback.Partner closely with engineering, research, and product teams to iterate, validate, and refine solutions, including supporting evaluation of AI assisted experiences.Translate complex or ambiguous problem spaces into intuitive, usable experiences through strong information design and interaction models.Create design artifacts that clearly communicate intent, including flows, wireframes, prototypes, and design narratives.Apply strong visual design principles, including layout, hierarchy, typography, color, motion, and imagery. Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 3+ years experience working in product or service designOR equivalent experience (e.g., demonstrated experience working in product or service design or using design thinking to solve problems). 3+ years of professional experience in product or service design, including experience designing online or cloud based services.A solid, user centered approach to design informed by qualitative and quantitative research.Solid interaction design skills, with the ability to create and prototype experiences that communicate user intent.Solid collaboration and communication skills, with experience working closely with design, product, and engineering partners. Preferred Qualifications:Master's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 3+ years experience working in product or service designOR Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 5+ years experience working in product or service designOR equivalent experience (e.g., demonstrated experience working in product or service design or using design thinking to solve problems).2+ years experience shipping products, services, or games and/or delivering to customers as a result of an end-to-end design process.Experience designing within complex or evolving problem spaces where requirements may be emerging or ambiguous.Familiarity with modern product development processes, including agile and crossfunctional workflows.Proficiency with modern design tools such as Figma; experience with additional design or prototyping tools is a plus.Working knowledge of HTML; familiarity with CSS is a plus.Passion for design and curiosity about how AI and emerging technologies can enhance user experiences in practical, human centered ways. #SharePointDesign #ProductDesign
Product Design IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
