Description

The Corporate External and Legal Affairs (CELA) Environmental Sustainability (ES) team coordinates overall science-based, measurable, and scalable sustainability investments and outcomes across the company – engaging with business groups to set goals related to reductions in the environmental impacts of business operations and positive environmental outcomes resulting from technology and policy development.Microsoft has developed a sophisticated data platform to support monitoring and reporting on its environmental commitments. The Sustainability, Power Platform Developer will shape the evolution of critical environmental digital transformation processes leveraging Power Platform to scale application development and minimize manual tasks. Experience as a business owner working directly with business teams for gathering requirements and creating usable user interfaces is required.
This position requires leveraging technology to simplify and improve business processes. You need to have an understanding of translating complex business processes into automated solutions using Power Platform and other Azure services. You would be required to have extensive cross-group coordination across hierarchies, the ability to synthesize complex business problems and devise and execute plans which address big challenges and opportunities in the environmental sustainability space.

Driving Digital Transformation
Design, develop and deploy solutions using Power Platform and Azure Services to further the digital transformation initiatives reducing the manual tasks and streamline business processes Work with stakeholders to understand the business requirements and leverage a variety of feedback channels to incorporate into feature design and solutions. Maintain the current assets and troubleshoot and resolve issues to ensure continuous improvement and efficiency Create user-friendly solutions to enable teams to manage and navigate the processes seamlessly
Scalability, Security and Compliance
Ensure that all solutions are scalable, maintainable and aligned with the organizational goals and standards. Implement all data security measures and governance and that the security measures are integrated into the development process from the very beginning
Innovation
Explore new trends in technology to identify usability improvements and reduce inefficiencies. Stay current with emerging technologies and upskill to meet future business needs Bring creativity in creating end to end solutions which are easy to use and reduce manual effort and increase stakeholder satisfaction

Qualifications
Required/Minimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in Microsoft Power Platform, Microsoft SQL Server, Azure Data Lake and Azure Synapseo OR equivalent experience.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in Microsoft Power Platform, Microsoft SQL Server, Azure Data Lake and Azure Synapseo OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in Microsoft Power Platform, Microsoft SQL Server, Azure Data Lake and Azure Synapse
o OR equivalent experience.
Knowledge of Microsoft Power BI, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence to derive insights from existing data to determine future insights4+ years of enterprise experience designing and deploying holistic reporting solutions; sustainability accounting experience, including Green House Gas Protocol (GHGP), Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and Task Force on Climate Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) standards.Familiarity or prior experience in any of the following fields: circular economy, sustainability target setting, carbon accounting, sustainable finance, Environment Sustainability Governance (ESG) due diligence, climate scenario analysis, and / or Environment Sustainability Governance (ESG) governance.Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) Fundamentals of Sustainability Accounting (FSA) certification or similar . Self-directed, motivated, creative, adaptable, unquestionable ethics and integrity, bias toward data-based decision making and a willingness to take calculated risks. Understanding of global sustainability related policies, regulations, standards, and literature. Ability to meet Microsoft data security requirements aligned to Secure Future Initiative (SFI) required for this role.
Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
