We're looking for a Senior Power BI Analyst/Developer to join Microsoft’s Azure Data engineering team that leading the transformation of analytics in the world of data with products like databases, data integration, big data analytics, messaging & real-time analytics, and business intelligence. The products our portfolio include Microsoft Fabric, Azure SQL DB, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure PostgreSQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Service Bus, Azure Event Grid, and Power BI. Our mission is to build the data platform for the age of AI, powering a new class of data-first applications and driving a data culture.

Within Azure Data, the Insights and Analytics team is building and maintaining internal analytics and reporting platform running on Microsoft Fabric to provide instant insights to the Azure Data engineering team leadership, Product Managers and Engineers. The team also acts as a first customer of newly developed products and features running them in a production environment while working together with product managers and engineers on providing product development feedback.

Responsibilities

• Create executive-ready reports, dashboards, and presentations with leading edge esthetics as well as ease of use and best in class navigation for storytelling in Power BI. Present insights with clarity, tailoring the message to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Drive Scalable Analytics: Implement repeatable, self-service processes and recommend automation and artificial intelligence–based solutions to improve speed and efficiency in Microsoft Fabric.

• Ensure Data Integrity: Collaborate with data engineers to maintain reliable pipelines, resolve data quality issues, and enforce privacy, security, and ethical artificial intelligence standards.

• Translate Strategy into Data Solutions: Convert business needs into technical requirements and guide decisions through high-impact analytics.

• Shape Platform Evolution: Influence how data is ingested, transformed, and consumed, contributing to platform strategy and scaling impact across teams.

• Apply advanced techniques such as DAX, Power Query, and semantic data modeling to deliver scalable insights.

• Perform data exploration via analytical tools and query languages (SQL, KQL)

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

Master's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 3+ years experience in business analytics, data science, software development, data modeling, or data engineering OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years experience in business analytics, data science, software development, data modeling, or data engineering OR equivalent experience.Experience in data visualization, DAX and Power BI.

Other Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications

Master's Degree in Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics or related field AND 6+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, data science, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis OR Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics or related field AND 8+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, data science, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis OR equivalent experience. 2+ years experience with data governance, data compliance and/or data security.Knowledge of query languages (SQL) .
