The Xbox Devices Business Planning team is seeking a Senior Platform Business Planner to architect the vision, shape the roadmap, and drive an end-to-end execution for our Devices business. In this role, you’ll collaborate across a broad network of influential stakeholders—spanning product, marketing, finance, and hardware—to drive high-impact decisions that define the future of Xbox. Your ability to align strategy with execution will be critical in delivering a comprehensive business plan that fuels innovation, growth, and player-centric experiences.
This role demands a blend of strategic acumen, operational excellence, and analytical rigor. You’ll serve as a thought partner to executive Xbox leaders, translating insights into action through deep customer and partner understanding, market intelligence, and financial modeling. Leveraging competitive analysis, trend forecasting, and industry benchmarks, your recommendations will directly shape Xbox Devices’ business plans, product strategies, and long-range planning.

Opportunity Analysis and Growth Strategy: Lead and define product and channel strategy in partnership with other internal teams, forecasting demand across screens and experiences. Develop growth strategies for Xbox Devices with multiple services while collaborating with leaders. Support development of Ecosystem economic models across key endpoint categories or lines of business Conduct competitive benchmarking and market analysis to identify opportunities building upon audience strategy Deliver insights for short and long-term business roadmaps. Lead partnerships with customer research and use research to drive business decisions to drive Xbox Devices Long Range Planning. Drive thought leadership around competition and industry trends (e.g. category monitoring/insights for specific form factor and/or experiences) Pricing and Offer Strategy: Evaluate market conditions and insights to determine offer strategy and pricing. Assess the impact on revenue and business targets. Drive promotion strategy and performance. Insights and Analysis: Lead projects or programs that synthesize data (e.g., pricing research, economic analysis) to inform business decisions and drive results. Use business insights and data analysis to inform strategic decision-making and communicate results in a synthesized manner. Program Management and Execution: Serve as an expert accountable for successful cross-organization execution for a plan (e.g., operationalizing of price), driving the launch through program management. Ensure the actual plan is executed and aligned with the overall strategy. Readiness: Develop appropriate content for different audiences. Create project plans with timelines and milestones to implement readiness strategy into business plans. Identify key stakeholders and implement their feedback and input. Provide requirements of business model to help other teams drive it. Forecasting: Serve as a key player of the plan and the overall definition, manage it as a business owner, and incorporate the business drivers into the plan (e.g., forecast, budget). Identify key performance indicators and metrics for planning and forecasting. Drive understanding of what is required to achieve the plan (e.g., resources, features, content). Performance Accountability: Track and drive insights for optimization of offer accountability and satisfaction of customers and partners. Contribute to results from Finance and others. Identify drivers of performance and issues associated with competitors for multiple areas and provide suggestions to meet performance expectations. Collaborate with a variety of groups through ongoing reviews of performance (e.g., weekly, monthly).

Business Planning IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,600 - $222,600 per year.
