Within Azure Data, the Microsoft Fabric platform team builds and maintains the operating system and provides customers a unified data stack to run an entire data estate. The platform provides a unified experience, unified governance, enables a unified business model and a unified architecture.
Microsoft Fabric’s Penetration Testing team is seeking a Penetration Tester II. It is a high-impact, hands-on security group embedded at the heart of one of Microsoft’s most ambitious data platforms. We lead internal adversarial engagements across the Fabric ecosystem, combining manual expertise, cutting-edge automation, and AI-driven techniques to rigorously challenge and validate the platform’s security posture. As a Penetration Tester on this team, you’ll collaborate with engineers, architects, and threat analysts to simulate real-world attack scenarios, uncover vulnerabilities, and drive meaningful improvements across a rapidly evolving cloud-native environment.

Utilize an adversarial mindset to perform penetration tests of SaaS, desktop, and mobile software and systems.Proficient in discovering vulnerabilities view manual testing, code review, and automation.Able to script exploits and tests for automation.Continually learning current security vulns, exploits, and concerns and able to bring that knowledge to the team.Embody our culture and values
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:Master's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field AND 1+ year(s) experience in security or related field OR Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field AND 2+ years experience in security or related field OR equivalent experience2+ years direct experience with penetration testing
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafterPreferred Qualifications:
Preferred experience penetration testing Azure-based servicesPreferred experience penetration testing LLM integrations
Penetration Testing IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
