Overview

Microsoft’s Monetization and Business Planning team is at the heart of transforming products and services into value for customers and partners while driving growth for Microsoft. A critical part of this organization is the Operational Excellence and Transformation (OET) team that helps to measure and improve the performance of product launch delivery to our end customers, across the company’s broad portfolio, such as Azure, Dynamics 365, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Defender, Azure, Power Platform, Windows, and our artificial intelligence services such as Copilot. This team also regularly identifies additional processes within the organization and helps to redefine/optimize these processes to create additional impact.

We are looking for an Operations Process Manager to join our team to drive the transformation of some of our most important launch and monetization processes. In this role, you will design and execute processes within our Marketing organization, ensuring clarity of business outcomes and strong alignment to organizational goals. You will apply process tools and methodologies, including Lean principles, to drive compliance, maintain governance, and optimize performance. By monitoring key metrics and interpreting data, you will identify opportunities for automation and continuous improvement, ensuring processes deliver efficiency, accuracy, and value.

A key aspect of this role includes supporting the execution of product launches, driving operational rigor and agility across launch workflows. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders to address pain points, maintain engagement, and implement solutions. This includes leading change management, anticipating and mitigating risks across the process lifecycle, and incorporating feedback to refine and transform processes. You will also have the opportunity to write requirements for and champion adoption of innovative AI solutions that enhance scale and accuracy in Marketing processes. Responsibilities

The Operations Process Manager are responsible for the following:

Process Design and Execution

Executes the process by utilizing full working knowledge of process tools and methodologies (e.g., value stream mapping) in accordance with compliance and controls. Drives a clear end-to-end view of expected business outcomes for the processes they are responsible for by using data, research, and assessments. Maintains stakeholder engagement rhythm to drive process outcomes. Maintains partnerships by addressing pain points, and collaborates with business partners to identify alternative solutions and options to resolve challenges.Designs the process and defines business outcomes for moderately complex processes within their own line of business to assess process performance. Provides input for definition of yearly goals, and executes solutions for anchoring to industry standards and process measures, implementing controls, maintaining compliance, optimizing customer experience, and helping to increase efficiency and reliability of business operations.

Process Maintenance and Optimization

Incorporates continuous improvement methodologies and implements function-level process improvements, including optimizing, maintaining, and transforming current processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness. Incorporates feedback from others to identify opportunities for future process improvements.Monitors and evaluates process(es), including running and measuring metrics to ensure the process is performing as expected. Interprets analyses to develop ideas for subsequent automation of moderately complex processes by translating data into recommendations. Analyzes data to benchmark and interpret key performance indicators (KPIs) to better understand moderately complex processes and make changes, if needed. Conducts data analysis to identify opportunities (e.g., aligning to industry standards, increasing productivity/efficiency, maintaining compliance/controls). Communicates findings to relevant stakeholders to maintain continuous feedback loops.Executes function-level change management using strong understanding of the business (e.g., readiness, timing, impact on stakeholders, data, tools, systems, policy, return on investment [ROI]).

Process Risk Management

Executes function-level risk mitigation controls and anticipates risk across a moderately complex process lifecycle (e.g., design, execution, optimization, evaluation), including logging and tracking risk. Shares process risk information and best practices with team.

Process Governance

Executes end-to-end governance for moderately complex process documentation and design within their own line of business. Maintains documentation for flow, controls, underlying systems, and requirements needed.Other

Qualifications

Master's Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field AND 2+ years process management, process execution, process optimization, or related experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field AND 4+ years process management, process execution, process optimization, or related experience OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field AND 6+ years process management, process execution, process optimization, or related experience (e.g., data analytics) OR Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field AND 8+ years process management, process execution, process optimization, or related experience (e.g., data analytics) OR equivalent experience.Lean, Business Process Management Professional, Change Management (e.g., Prosci), Six Sigma, and/or Agile certifications.6+ years’ experience process management, process execution, process optimization, or related experience.4+ years in process improvement in Process Design, Operations Management, Process Management or Change Management. 4+ years of experience in storytelling and working with stakeholders. 2+ years of Experience in Data analytics with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skillsProven ability to thrive and drive clarity in ambiguous situations with adaptability and a growth mindsetRelevant experience in launch operations, business planning, product management, or similar experience in the enterprise technology industryKnowledge of and experience with artificial intelligence (AI) agents, including design, development, training, and implementationExperience working with product and services catalogs and related systemsDemonstrated ability to lead complex process initiatives and prioritize multiple activities to deliver on scope and schedule

Process Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $96,500 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $123,500 - $206,400 per year.
