Microsoft Consumer Sales Finance (CSF) works across all Microsoft products and services sold to Consumers and original equipment manufacturers (OEM) partners, from Xbox to Surface, Windows, Office, Server and IOT. The CSF team partners with internal and external customers alike with the goal of maximizing revenue, market share, and mutual profit with our partners and ensuring the highest ethics and compliance in any action. Consumer Sales Finance (CSF) - Device Partner Sales (DPS) is a truly global finance team highly engaged in developing its talent and have them evolve in a moving environment. CSF spans all finance functions; we span working with Marketing to drive our product categories, with Supply and Ops to ensure we have the right product in the right places, Sales to understand our Partner Account mechanics and Channel Strategy, manage the organization’s Rhythm of Business and are custodians of the P&L. We chart our Growth path in existing businesses and in net new areas for the company, whilst prioritizing creating a more Inclusive Microsoft across our products, our culture and our marketing and every customer engagement. The North America Device Partner Sales Controller role is an opportunity to be at the heart of a dynamic business in the North America region. The role is asked to act as the CFO of the Device Partner Sales (DPS) business in North America (US and Canada), drive results in line with commitments, ensure cross-team visibility and engagement to realize the opportunity of Microsoft’s OEM ecosystem play. Additionally, the role seeks to manage and review the financial performance of the business, identify and critically assess investment opportunities optimizing between margin & share, and shape the landing strategy with business partners. This role is also expected to drive growth, transformation and strategic initiatives across the business, in addition to deep, insightful analysis about the market, partners, trending and risks and opportunities as well as acting as guardian of the profit & loss (P&L). The role requires financial acumen and stakeholder management capability. The DPS business partners with WW and local OEMs to drive and monetize devices and services sold through consumer, commercial and education customers. The business leverages solutions across Windows, Office, Server and IOT product portfolio to partner with OEMs and original design manufacturers (ODMs) to build, market and sell innovative device portfolios and solutions. Lastly, the business team plays a critical role in accelerating device distribution and reseller transformation by leveraging our go-to-market programs designed to allow the Microsoft ecosystem to thrive. The role will partner across subregion DPS leadership teams (Subregion DPS Lead, Subregion Go To Market Lead, Sales and Sales Excellence leads) to maximize impact through strategic business partnership and performance management, drive focus around key growth plans financial evaluation, design and profitability analysis.

In addition, the role will play a critical role in driving alignment across Regional DPS Finance Lead and WW DPS Finance roles on market insights and performance management, acting as a feedback loop for the customer voice across our internal stakeholders. In addition, the role must minimize manual work and time spent on reporting thru continuous emphasis on transformation to Standardize Analytics within Regional and adopting WW initiatives/best practices (e.g. Partner Profitability, return on investment (ROI), Centralized Budgeting, Performance Management Reporting, Inventory Tracking, etc). These will be achieved by leveraging and partnering across our WW DPS finance, WW CSF Finance, Americas Devices & Creativity Finance teams and outsourced support teams.

The key responsibilities for the role are articulated below:

Performance management: Deliver budget revenue, according to quarterly accountability, ensuring due diligence across the team. Deep understanding of business (e.g., market, share, product, channel, customer) for the Subregion/Category/Account to support, drive forecast accuracy and articulate the story behind the numbers as the subject matter expert. Drive alignment between Finance Teams, DPS leadership teams, Subregions, and Sales Excellence around all finance rhythms.

Growth & Transformation: Drive collaboration within organization and contribute to innovate new growth strategies/opportunities and help transform the business. Lead DPS team on financial modelling for critical business cases. Build capability on new growth areas and Performance metrics.

Investment Optimization: Develop deeper understanding of investment ROI and profitability, including for key partners with optimal allocation of marketing and external resource operating expenses (OPEX). Manage the P&L to field operating model accountability and incremental Agility. Partner at regional level to maximize OPEX utilization across Regional DPS teams.

Finance Operations: Foster collaboration across Finance and Business communities to drive simplification and standardization to establish repeatable, sustainable, processes within/across regions. Create a Culture of Compliance by driving structured tone from the top.

Community: Active contribution to the DPS Community and adoption of best practices to increase business partnership, drive standardization and contribute to the community’s goals utilizing WW projects and initiatives.

Be a trusted advisor for the North America DPS leadership teams by adding value to decision making and running the business.Provide independent analytics and insights to support growth and target attainment for DPS business across local revenue and device activation metrics, all the while understanding business drivers behind performance. Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related fieldOR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related fieldOR equivalent experience.Additional or Preferred Qualifications

At least 10 years’ experience within a business environment, ideally in commercial Finance

Track record of driving business partnership and trusted leadership

Prior background in financial planning and performance management while working in a large multinational with a matrix organization structure

Effective communicator with proficient written and verbal communication skills to aid executive communication and storytelling

Self-starter capable of effective collaboration across the organization and thriving in an ambiguous environmentAdvanced Excel skills, PowerBI skills, Track record of leveraging AIFinancial Analysis IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,600 - $183,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $122,000 - $200,500 per year.
