Description

Overview

We’re hiring a highly technical Senior Media Data Capability Lead to join our AdTech team. This role partners closely with our Media Measurement team, Media Audience team, and AdTech Engineering teams to translate measurement needs into reliable, scalable data solutions. You’ll help define “what good looks like” for media measurement data, ensure data is sourced correctly from multiple systems, and drive execution by working side-by-side with engineering - without being expected to be a day-to-day coder. This is a great fit for someone who can go deep technically (data models, pipelines, logging, APIs, quality checks), understands media and measurement concepts end-to-end, and can navigate ambiguity and senior stakeholders to get outcomes delivered.

Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.

In alignment with our Microsoft values, we are committed to cultivating an inclusive work environment for all employees to positively impact our culture every day.

Responsibilities

Drive measurement data requirements end-to-end: partner with Media Analytics + Audience teams to capture requirements, define metrics/definitions, and turn needs into actionable technical specs. Translate business questions into data solutions: define datasets, event schemas, metric logic, and data contracts that support reporting, experimentation, and optimization. Partner deeply with AdTech Engineering: work with engineering teams to design solutions, unblock execution, manage dependencies, and ensure on-time delivery. Data sourcing & integration: align and validate data coming from multiple sources (platform telemetry, ad platforms, analytics tools, internal systems), ensuring consistency and traceability. Quality, governance, and reliability: define and operationalize data QA (completeness, accuracy, timeliness), monitoring, and documentation; reduce “mystery metrics.” Influence and stakeholder management: communicate clearly with senior leaders and cross-functional partners; drive alignment on priorities, tradeoffs, and phased delivery plans. Continuous improvement: identify gaps, propose roadmap improvements, and standardize processes for requirements intake, definitions, and delivery. Embody our culture and values.
