The M365 Consumer Category Management team leads strategy and execution across the Americas, influencing product plans, pricing, and customer experiences to maximize business impact. We drive acquisition and subscriber growth by developing world-class category programs, partnering across global and regional teams, and shaping the future of our subscription business across all consumer channels.
Role Overview
As the M365 Consumer Category Manager (Americas), you will own strategy, execution, and long-range growth planning for the Microsoft 365 category across Retail and Digital channels in the region. You will partner closely with Worldwide Category, regional Sales and Marketing teams, Finance, and our key retail partners to drive M365 Acquisition, subscriber growth, launch excellence, and long-term category expansion. This role is highly cross-functional, highly visible, and ideal for someone who thrives in dynamic environments, enjoys solving ambiguous problems, and wants to make a measurable impact on a multi-billion-dollar business.
Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Execution
Lead quarterly and long-range attach planning processes across the Americas, ensuring alignment with Worldwide (WW) Category and regional leadership teams.
Develop and execute comprehensive category growth plans that improve acquisition and drive incremental revenue.
Translate business insights, market dynamics, and strategic priorities into clear and actionable execution plans for partners and internal teams.
Product Launch & Pricing Management
Lead execution of all Microsoft 365 product launches and pricing adjustments in the Americas region, ensuring alignment with global strategy and local market conditions.
Partner closely with WW Category, Finance, and Marketing teams to define pricing strategies, promotional frameworks, and launch timelines.
Develop and manage readiness, communication, and rollout plans for internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure seamless implementation of new products and price changes.
Monitor launch performance and partner feedback, identifying opportunities to optimize future launch motions.
Long-Term Growth & On-Ramp Initiatives
Oversee long-term category growth initiatives and on-ramp programs designed to accelerate future performance of the Microsoft 365 business in the Americas.
Lead multiple parallel v-teams comprising cross-functional regional stakeholders (Sales, Marketing, other Category teams) and global counterparts (WW Category, WW Marketing, Business Group).
Establish governance frameworks, communication rhythms, and execution standards that bring clarity and alignment across geographies and functions.
Champion strategic planning, milestone tracking, and risk mitigation for long-term initiatives, ensuring timely delivery and measurable category impact.
Serve as the primary point of accountability for long-term growth motions, driving clarity, removing blockers, and maintaining momentum across all stakeholders.
Escalation Management & Communication Strategy
Develop and manage a consistent “Help Needed” process to streamline escalations and support for category initiatives across the Americas region.
Design and execute communication strategies that keep regional Sales and Marketing teams informed and aligned on priorities, timelines, and business-critical deliverables.
Create standardized templates, processes, and business rhythms to ensure transparency, predictability, and timely resolution of dependencies and escalations.
Continuously improve escalation workflows and communication channels based on stakeholder feedback, performance metrics, and evolving business needs.

Required Qualifications
4+ years category management, product management, marketing strategy, business planning, product planning, or related work experience AND Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Economics, Public Relations, Engineering, or related field OR equivalent experience.2+ years demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and manage complex stakeholder landscapes.
Preferred Qualifications
6+ years category management, product management, marketing strategy, business planning, product planning, or related work experience AND Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Economics, Public Relations, Engineering, or related field OR equivalent experience.
Experience working with consumer subscription businesses, retail and digital channels, or global product launches.
Ability to influence senior leaders and communicate decisions with clarity and confidence.
Skilled in building structured processes, governance frameworks, and scalable execution rhythms.
Proven track record of driving strategic initiatives across multiple regions, functions, and teams.

Category Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,600 - $222,600 per year.
