Description
OverviewMicrosoft’s Windows Device Sales (WDS) organization is responsible for partnering with the world’s largest device and technology companies to ensure that Microsoft’s software products and services are available on compelling hardware solutions world-wide. In doing so, WDS generates a significant portion of Microsoft’s revenue and profits. We build, market and sell breakthrough AI-powered devices and cloud experiences with partners, including Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), device distribution and reseller channels, Original Design Manufacturers (ODM), and Silicon providers.
As a Senior Investment Manager, you will be part of a dynamic team in DPS that is responsible for Licensing, Strategic Deals, and Investments. We manage a large discretionary investments budget, we oversee an extensive strategic deals portfolio, and we lead investment strategy across a multi-billion-dollar incentive stack.
Responsibilities
This role will be responsible for designing and managing investment constructs to drive Microsoft’s hardware business in close collaboration with Finance Teams, Sales Teams and Business Planning Teams within Microsoft. We seek a determined, analytical, creative, and experienced business leader to join us in evolving this critical capability.
More specifically, you will be responsible for:
Partner across stakeholders including Senior Leadership, Finance, Business Planning, Engineering Groups, Account Sales/Marketing, Legal, and Operations to build and land strategic investments to secure the most competitive Windows product portfolio:Build business case with supporting data to define goals and secure executive approvalsBuild subject matter expertise on ecosystem dynamics, market opportunities/gaps and product and compete strategies globallyOwn market research and analysis required to drive investment decisionsDrive an ongoing and evolving accountability discipline with sales teamsManage, evolve, and improve the ROI of investments and lead performance management discipline, including metrics, monitoring, and reportingPresenting investment performance and strategy to CVP leadership across MicrosoftGuide leadership decision-making with best-in-class analytics and cohesive rational

Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
AND 3+ years experience in retail, Master's Degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Social Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fieldecommerce, data science, research, marketing or business-related roles OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Social Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 4+ years experience in retail, ecommerce, data science, research, marketing or business-related roles OR 5+ years experience in retail, ecommerce, data science, research, marketing or business-related roles OR equivalent experience.OR equivalent experience.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications:
3+ years experience in Near Term Strategy (1-2 years out), Management Consulting, or Finance.
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of complex business problem structuring, data-driven decision making, problem solving, business analytics, and the ability to inspire confidence in senior leaders and motivate members across a virtual team.
Experience in strategy consulting, finance, banking, technology, investment management, or other relevant experience is required. Advanced degree is preferred. Experience with bargaining and negotiation is a plus.

eCommerce IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,600 - $222,600 per year.
