Description
Are you excited about transforming how Retail and Consumer Goods organizations drive growth in the Era of AI?As the Industry Solutions Director – Merchandising, Sales, and Revenue Growth Management, you will lead pipeline and revenue generating go-to-market strategies, solutions portfolio development, and field sales enablement motions to deliver outsized business, reputation, and market share growth. In this role, you will be a strategic thinker with expertise in retail merchandising and consumer goods sales and category management, ready to influence across functions and drive measurable customer transformation.
In this role, you will lead with industry depth to curate a portfolio of industry scenarios paired with Microsoft and partner-led solutions that enables net new pipeline development. You will also co-innovate with global merchandising, sales, and RGM (revenue growth management) leaders to envision, shape, and deliver the future of Agentic AI. This role is an opportunity for you to be an inspirational leader that generates clarity and energy in the organization, setting a compelling vision for customers and partners that results in measurable pipeline and revenue growth for Microsoft.
This role is pivotal in driving Microsoft's global Retail and Consumer Goods scale go-to-market strategy. You will be at the forefront of enabling sales teams with the insights, narratives, and solutions they need to win in a competitive market. Your work will directly impact on how we deliver value to customers, grow market share, and shape the future of retail and consumer goods innovation.
Job Location: This role is located in Redmond, WA. This role is flexible in that you may work from home up to 50%.

You will anticipate market shifts and articulate customer needs, triangulating across AI-enabled research, data analysis, industry analyst insights, partner ecosystem signal, and customer conversations. You will act as a strategic advisor to Microsoft and customer leaders, influencing AI transformation strategy with compelling narratives, value propositions, market insights and domain expertise. You will create a portfolio of Microsoft and partner solutions that unlocks net new pipeline and revenue opportunities with the Chief Merchant, Head of Category Management, and Chief Revenue/Sales Officer personas. You will ideate and iterate repeatable industry scenarios and Go-To-Market sales plays to drive sales at scale across customers and partners, enabling Microsoft Industry Advisors, Account Teams, and Partners as needed. You will execute as One Microsoft (defining goals, deliverables, and execution plans across organizational boundaries) to deliver commercial outcomes, leading cross-functional sales, solutions, and enablement programs. You will augment your inherent business acumen with AI tools to analyze business performance to identify trends and best practices that accelerate pipeline development and optimize realized revenue. You will lead feedback loops across sellers, customers, partners, marketing, and engineering to monitor go-to-market success and identify emerging needs. You will seek synergies across industries to respond to customer and market changes, and further grow pipeline and revenue realization. You will embody our Culture and Values.
Qualifications
Required/minimum qualificationsBachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Engineering, or related field AND 5+ years experience in business consulting, sales, sales operations, information technology (IT), account management, business development, marketing, IT field sales, or a related field OR equivalent experience.6+ years experience in Near Term Strategy (2 years out), Management Consulting, Sales, or Finance.5+ years of experience in Retail Merchandising or Consumer Goods Sales, with deep knowledge in areas such as merchandise buying, planning, assortment strategies, price and trade promotion optimization, Revenue Growth Management, sales, and retail execution, or related. Additional or preferred qualifications
Master's Degree in Business Administration or related field AND 5+ years of marketing, strategy, sales, sales leadership, program management, project management, business planning, consulting, banking, finance, economics, and/or partner organization experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or related field AND 7+ years of marketing, strategy, sales, sales leadership, program management, project management, business planning, consulting, finance, economics, and/or partner organization experience OR equivalent experience.Experience in stakeholder engagement and executive-level influence.Experience synthesizing market research and sales data into strategic insights and commercial offerings, leveraging AI across all activities.Experience in project/program leadership across matrixed organizations.Experienced with customer engagement, storytelling skills, and developing compelling narratives and value propositions.Experience in Cloud, SaaS (Software as a Service), Data & AI and Agentic solutions. Familiarity with Microsoft’s partner ecosystem.Sales Strategy Enablement IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $251,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $272,300 per year.
