Overview

Microsoft’s Corporate Accounting Revenue Recognition team is responsible for the accuracy for billions of dollars of revenue across the world for US GAAP and local statutory reporting. We are looking for a highly motivated, collaborative people leader to join our team that thrives in a dynamic and complex environment. Responsibilities

Lead and develop a team of US Based Revenue Recognition SMEs who evaluate customer agreements and document the proper revenue accounting under ASC 606.Ensure contract review and accounting processes follow the company’s documented policies.Build relationships with key stakeholders (revenue operations, sales, finance & strategy, legal etc.) to collaborate on non-routine transactions, new product offerings and process improvements.Serve as a key stakeholder in the design and implementation for new product launches.Enhance and streamline operational processes to improve efficiency, service quality, and accuracy.Review non-standard customer agreements to evaluate revenue recognition impacts and propose solutions that align with internal policies and company objectives.Represent rev rec as accounting systems SME for projects and within team to assist with contract review efforts.Develop organizational enablement documentation and processes for global rev rec team.Participate in key strategic initiatives and assist with other ad hoc projects.Microsoft managers bring out the best in their people to achieve team and organization priorities by:

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

Master's Degree in Business, Accounting /Finance, or related field AND 6+ years accounting or finance experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting /Finance, or related field AND 7+ years accounting or finance experience OR equivalent experience.Additional or Preferred Qualifications

Professional accounting certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent.Experience with technology industry Proficient technical revenue accounting knowledge of US GAAP and specifically ASC 606.

Accounting M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $116,900 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $148,400 - $222,600 per year.
