Description

Windows Servicing and Delivery (WSD) has core mission of keeping customers and Windows ecosystem protected and productive, delivering monthly Windows updates to 1+ billion devices running different versions of Windows Operating System. Graphics Core Engineering (GRFX CE) team is responsible for keeping Windows Graphics components secure and reliable in existing and future versions of Windows by working closely with our product teams, partners and customers. The team owns all the Graphics stacks like DirectX, GDI and GDI+ for servicing by fixing functional, reliability, performance but most important security defects in Graphics area. We are a team of engineers passionate about product security and quality that care deeply about bringing the best customer experience to our products while ensuring a great experience for all users on a diverse set of devices. Looking for Graphic Software Engineer II that would like to learn the internals of Windows Operating System, enjoy solving customer problems, passionate about modernizing Windows source code and help us to deliver on our core mission. Root cause analysis of security and functional code defects, performance problems in Windows Graphics components. Generalize the findings and create solutions to address the defects. Be part of AI efforts to modernize existing tools and processes or build new ones from scratch. Learn the design and implementation details of a substantial part of the Windows code base including Graphics. Bring new features to in-market Windows products. Analyze the code base through static and dynamic analysis tools. Implement new fuzzers and tests to find and fix defects.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or PythonOR equivalent experience.Preferred Qualifications:

3+ years technical engineering experience.Computer graphics expertise (2D, 3D, GDI, Graphics Drivers, Rasterizer, OpenGL, etc). Coding experience in C/C++ in a professional capacity. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks. Problem-solving, debugging and troubleshooting skills. Familiarity with kernel mode debugging through WinDbg. Familiarity with TrueType, Open Type and Variable Fonts specifications. Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
