With a vision to "Build and sell Microsoft AI, Cloud applications, services, and devices with partners, empowering people and organizations to achieve more," SME&C Channel Partner Sales (CPS) is responsible for driving revenue outcomes with partners through innovative solutions–at scale. This is where the Global Partner Solution Area Tech Lead, Security plays a pivotal role.As a Global Partner Solution Area Lead, Security in the Security solution area, you will serve as a strategic leader focused on Microsoft’s top Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) partners. You will identify business opportunities, challenges, and blockers across Microsoft’s Security, Compliance, Identity, and Management portfolio. This role requires deep channel partner knowledge and the ability to engage with executives to drive strategic conversations that span cybersecurity transformation, risk management, compliance, and partner profitability strategies.You will be a thought leader and visionary, influencing product direction, interfacing with engineering teams, and providing regular leadership updates. Your broad understanding of Microsoft’s security offerings—including Microsoft Defender, Entra, Purview, and Sentinel—combined with your ability to communicate effectively and drive influence, will be critical to your success.
The ideal candidate brings extensive technical and business experience across Microsoft’s security stack, demonstrating mastery of cloud security, identity and access management, threat protection, and compliance. In addition to this expertise, the role requires a deep understanding of the channel partner ecosystem, enabling strategic collaboration and alignment with top CSP partners. This combination of skills ensures the ability to drive impactful business outcomes, accelerate secure cloud adoption, and foster trusted partnerships that advance Microsoft’s vision and the success of its partners.

Strategic Partner Leadership: Engage with top CSP partners to identify security-related opportunities and challenges. Drive alignment with Microsoft’s Security solution area to enable partner growth and customer trust.Strategic Technical Expertise: Leverage deep technical knowledge across Microsoft security technologies, including Defender, Sentinel, Entra, and Purview. Connect these capabilities to partner and customer security needs to drive strategic outcomes.Executive Engagement: Build trusted relationships with stakeholders at partner organizations. Lead strategy discussions focused on cyber risk, security posture, compliance requirements, and trust.Thought Leadership & Influence: Serve as a thought leader in Microsoft’s security domain. Provide insights to engineering and product teams to shape future investments and innovations.Business Growth & Consumption: Align the Security solution area with partner go-to-market strategies to accelerate security solution sales, usage, and managed service offerings.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with engineering, marketing, and field teams to support secure partner offerings. Lead initiatives that enhance partner enablement and customer protection.Co-Development and Strategic Alignment: Work with partners to co-develop security services and offerings aligned with Microsoft’s roadmap. Help partners anticipate upcoming capabilities and evolving threat landscapes.Roadmap Sharing and Vision Workshops: Facilitate visioning and roadmap sessions with top partners to provide early insights into Microsoft’s security strategy. Empower partners to adapt their solutions and services proactively.Business Model Innovation: Guide partners in building managed security services and zero trust offerings that align with Microsoft’s platform. Identify new revenue models based on emerging security needs.Feedback Loop Integration: Establish a feedback rhythm with partners to gather market insights, compliance trends, and customer concerns. Leverage this input to inform Microsoft’s strategy and product development.Strategic Planning Enablement: Support partners in long-term security strategy planning that aligns with Microsoft’s innovation cycles and industry regulations.Leadership Communication: Provide leadership with regular updates on partner performance, cybersecurity trends, and risks. Shape decision-making with strategic insights and partner feedback.Skilling & Community Enablement: Present on security topics in partner and Architect community forums. Qualifications
Required/minimum qualificationsBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, Liberal Arts, or related field AND 7+ years experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, information technology (IT) consulting/support, systems administration, network operations, software development/support, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, and/or consultingOR equivalent experience.4+ years of Security or Cybersecurity experience in the Partner Space or equivalent experienceAdditional or preferred qualifications
6+ years of related experience in technology Intellectual Property (IP) solutions or services development, with a deep understanding of digital transformation business drivers, cloud platforms, and emerging cloud trends like generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Software as a Service (SaaS)Experience across Microsoft’s security ecosystem, showcasing expertise in cloud security, identity and access management, threat protection, and regulatory complianceProficient background and in-depth knowledge of cloud technologies, with a focus on Microsoft's cloud offerings (Azure, Dynamics 365, Microsoft 365).Experience in cloud architecture, migration, and optimization
Cloud Solution Architecture IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $251,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $272,300 per year.
