Description

With a vision to "Build and sell Microsoft AI, Cloud applications, services, and devices with partners, empowering people and organizations to achieve more," Small Medium Enterprises and Channel (SME&C) Channel Partner Sales (CPS) is responsible for driving revenue outcomes with partners through innovative solutions–at scale. This is where the Global Partner Solution Area Lead, AI Business plays a pivotal role.

As a Global Partner Solution Area Lead, AI Business in the AI Business Solutions solution area, you will serve as a senior-level strategic leader focused on Microsoft’s top Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) partners. You will identify business opportunities, challenges, and blockers across the Microsoft AI Business Solutions portfolio. This role requires deep channel partner knowledge and the ability to engage with executives to drive strategic conversations that span business transformation, technology innovation, human-centered design, and partner profitability strategies.

You will be a thought leader and visionary, influencing product direction, interfacing with engineering teams, and providing regular leadership updates. Your broad understanding of Microsoft Modern Work and Business Applications platforms, combined with your ability to communicate effectively and drive influence, will be critical to your success.

The ideal candidate brings extensive technical and business experience across the Microsoft portfolio, demonstrating mastery of key platforms such as Modern Work, Business Applications, and AI innovations. In addition to this broad expertise, the role requires a deep understanding of the channel partner ecosystem, enabling strategic collaboration and alignment with top Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) partners. This combination of skills ensures the ability to drive impactful business outcomes, facilitate technology adoption, and foster strong partnerships that advance Microsoft’s vision and the success of its partners.

Strategic Partner Leadership: Engage with top CSP partners to identify strategic opportunities and challenges. Drive alignment with Microsoft’s AI Business Solutions offerings to enable partner growth and profitability.Strategic Technical Expertise: Leverage deep technical knowledge across Microsoft technologies, including AI and Microsoft Copilot to connect the dots across the broad portfolio of Microsoft products and services. Utilize this expertise to strategically align solutions with the channel partners and customer goals, ensuring technology adoption drives impactful business outcomes.Executive Engagement: Build trusted relationships with CXO-level stakeholders at partner organizations. Lead high-impact strategy discussions that integrate business, technology, strategy, and human-centered design principles.Thought Leadership & Influence: Serve as a thought leader across Microsoft and the partner ecosystem. Provide insights and feedback to product and engineering teams to shape product direction and innovation.Business Growth & Consumption: Drive partner business outcomes by aligning the Microsoft AI Business Solutions area with partner go-to-market strategies. Accelerate sales and consumption of Microsoft products and services.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with engineering, marketing, and field teams to ensure partner success. Lead cross-functional initiatives that support partner enablement and customer impact.Co-Development and Strategic Alignment: Collaborate closely with partners to co-develop AI Business solutions that are aligned with Microsoft’s evolving product roadmap and long-term vision. Work together to ensure that partner business strategies are informed by upcoming innovations and key focus areas from Microsoft.Roadmap Sharing and Vision Workshops: Host visioning sessions and roadmap workshops with top partners to provide early insights into Microsoft’s AI Business Solutions strategy. Enable partners to proactively adapt their offerings and go-to-market plans in anticipation of new capabilities and trends.Business Model Innovation: Introduce new business models and revenue streams that are enabled by Microsoft’s latest technologies. Guide partners in transforming their business strategies to capitalize on opportunities presented by our product vision.Feedback Loop Integration: Establish ongoing feedback mechanisms where partners can share market insights and customer needs. Use this input to refine Microsoft’s roadmap while simultaneously helping partners shape their business strategies to align with future product directions.Strategic Planning Enablement: Support partners in developing long-term business strategies that are synchronized with Microsoft’s innovation cycles, ensuring sustained growth and competitive differentiation within the market.Leadership Communication: Provide regular updates to the leadership team on partner challenges, strategic initiatives, and market trends. Influence decision-making through data-driven insights and strategic recommendations.Skilling & Community Enablement: Serve as a guest presenter on Partner and Architect community calls to share thought leadership, emerging trends, and best practices. Support Microsoft leadership in defining and advancing skilling and training strategies, ensuring partners and Architects are equipped to maximize the value of Microsoft’s solutions and drive collective success.OtherEmbody our Culture and Values

Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, Liberal Arts, or related field AND 7+ years experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, information technology (IT) consulting/support, systems administration, network operations, software development/support, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, and/or consultingOR equivalent experience. 5+ years experience in cloud technologies, with a focus on Microsoft's cloud offerings such as Azure, Dynamics 365, Microsoft 365 or equivalent.Additional or preferred qualifications6+ years experience working in a customer-facing role (e.g., internal and/or external).6+ years experience leading technical projects.Technical Certification in Cloud (e.g., Azure, Amazon Web Services, Google, security certifications).4+ years of related experience in technology IP solutions or services development, with a deep understanding of digital transformation business drivers, cloud platforms, and emerging cloud trends like generative AI (ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE) and SaaS (Software as a Service) services.Extensive background and in-depth knowledge of cloud technologies, with a focus on Microsoft's cloud offerings (Azure, Dynamics 365, Microsoft 365).Experience in cloud architecture, migration, and optimization.Cloud Solution Architecture IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $251,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $272,300 per year.
