The Marketing Finance organization is looking for a Senior Finance Manager to support our Commercial Cloud & AI (CC&AI) Marketing org. This role will act as trusted advisor to the Azure-focused marketing teams under CC&AI by driving strategic resource allocation and ensuring program & people execution per finance plan, while also contributing to transformational initiatives that enhance operational efficiency.

The Product Marketing Finance team is part of the broader Marketing Finance org, and partners closely with marketing stakeholders across all our product offerings (Commercial Cloud & AI, Copilot, Windows Devices & Services, Security and Developer). This team provides finance partnership, analysis & business insights, strategic investment prioritization, thought leadership, and resource trade-off decision support to the product-centric marketing leadership at Microsoft.

Responsibilities

Partnership:

Engage closely with business leaders in CC&AI Marketing org to analyze marketing investments, drive insights, and influence investment prioritization. Collaborate across other product marketing & finance teams to drive synergies, promote best practices, share business insights, streamline rhythms, etc.Thought Leadership:

Adopt system thinking to develop financial frameworks that drive action and scale broadly, simplify financial processes and land operational efficiency initiatives, and leverage AI capabilities to speed up execution.Drive data-informed decision making and systematic solutions, communicate effectively and collaborate well across the marketing and finance organization across forums.Prepare financial forecasts and support ROB and planning cycles.Contribute to month-end and quarter-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and recurring reporting deliverables.Provide ad hoc reporting and analytical support to business partners to strengthen forecast accuracy, drive accountability, and help build financial discipline and operating rhythms across the team.Drive a compliant culture through actions and decisions to instill trust. Advocates, educates, and promotes best practices and new developments.Champions Microsoft privacy, security, and ethical standards.Advances key compliance initiatives.Other:

Qualifications

Required/minimum qualificationsMaster's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR equivalent experience.This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring on-site presence at our Redmond campus three (3) days a week.Additional or preferred qualificationsMasters Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 6+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience OR Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 8+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance work experience OR equivalent experience.1+ year(s) experience in multinationals with multi-product/multi-segment finance roles.1+ year(s) work experience in matrix-based organization.1+ year(s) work experience in the technology or software industry.2+ plus years of proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions, formulas, pivot tables and data analysis, delivering accurate financial calculations and actionable insights to drive business outcomesWork experience in (or supporting) a marketing organizationCrisp communication skills (both verbal and written), demonstrating ability and interest in storytelling with dataProficiency in Microsoft Technology including Excel and Power BIPositive and inclusive team member with a desire to excel both personally and professionallyDemonstrated collaborator with the desire and ability to partner and influence the businessEffective problem solver with a demonstrated ability to thrive in highly ambiguous situationsAttention to detail with the ability to manage competing prioritiesAble to embrace a growth mindset with the ability to make process and business recommendations

Financial Analysis IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $97,600 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $125,000 - $206,400 per year.
