Description
OverviewThe Commercial Products & Infrastructure (CPI) organization is responsible for
driving Microsoft cloud & Artificial Intelligence (AI) capacity, margin excellence and resource
allocation rigor across Microsoft’s portfolio. Within The Margin Strategy & Investment
Optimization (MSIO) organization, the Investment Optimization Strategy finance team is an
exciting and fast-evolving team that partners deeply with engineering leaders to ensure
$20B+ resources across ~100K engineering FTEs are continuously aligned to strategic
engineering priorities.

This Finance Manager - Commercial Products & Infrastructure position requires a motivated
and agile system thinker who can demonstrate intellectual curiosity and navigate ambiguity
and complexity to be the trusted finance advisor to our engineering leaders and drive success
for our business partners. This team/role has scope across 7 SLT engineering organizations to
enable a consistent, portfolio-based view and strategic approach to ensure Microsoft
investments in engineering headcount resources are reflected in accurate, timely and
industry-leading views.

Responsibilities
•Lead the effort to develop and standaridize headcount reporting views and coordinate with
Financial Data Management partenrs to enable automated reporting solutions.
•Drive improvement in data management and reporting through automation and early
adoption of AI tools.
•Develop new approaches to leverage best-in-class technology (e.g., Machine Learning,
Artificial Intelligence, Predictive Analytics etc.) to accomplish goals.
•Manage varous competing FD&E projects with ensure delivery and adoption through
completion
•Contributes to new and unconventional methods and approaches to data collection,
analysis, interpretation, and financial models.
•Provides advice and direction in evaluating suitability and reliability of data, articulate limitations, and propose solutions on data management and operations. •Acts as subject matter expert for data management and operations.
Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field OR Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership, finance, or related field OR equivalent experience. Preferred/Additional Qualifications
• Financial analysis experience in a high-tech company
• Revenue Planning and/or Consulting experience
• Communication & presentation skills
• Experience in developing complex financial models and scenario analysis, excellent
quantitative analysis skills
• Ability to influence and impact without authority, operate in ambiguity, and solve difficult
problems, combined with the ability to prioritize and function well in a dynamic and matrixed
environment
• Interpersonal and cross group collaboration skills. Ability to drive simplicity within a
complex and matrix environment
• Proficient technical skills (Excel/Power BI and SQL)
Financial Analysis IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $76,800 - $151,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $100,800 - $168,000 per year.
