As a Senior Finance Manager on Microsoft’s Consumer Margin and AI team, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the financial strategy behind one of our most impactful businesses—M365 Consumer. Your work ensures healthy margins, optimizes capacity allocation, and drives investment decisions that fuel innovation and growth. In this role, you’ll lead margin and investment analysis, support annual planning and forecasting, and provide strategic guidance during financial close periods. You’ll leverage advanced financial modeling, integrate diverse data sources into clear narratives, and collaborate across teams to manage risk and ensure compliance. By influencing structural efficiencies and long-term bets, you’ll help deliver sustainable value to customers and advance Microsoft’s AI-first vision—all within a collaborative, inclusive environment that values diverse perspectives and bold ideas.

Responsibilities
We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Finance Manager to
Partner with engineering and business leaders to deeply understand, influence, and optimize margins across M365 Consumer; success requires collaboration, curiosity, and self-motivation.
Own close, forecast, and planning rhythm-of-business processes, translating insights into clear, high-quality communications that enable informed decisions by M365 engineering and finance leadership.
Own detailed financial and GPU capacity modeling to evaluate AI investments, including per-unit and per-feature cost of goods sold (COGS).
Lead AI usage modeling to influence short-term allocation and trade-off decisions and inform long-range (10+ year) capacity planning.
Drive and maintain long-range planning for M365 Consumer workloads, partnering with engineering and revenue teams to achieve affordability targets.
Identify efficiency opportunities and drive execution in partnership with stakeholders.

Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR equivalent experience.
Additional or preferred qualifications
Advanced degree or MBA.
5+ years of relevant experience with progressive advancement within your discipline.
3+ year(s) experience in delivering high-value, high-impact projects through both individual contributions and cross-functional team collaboration.
3+ year(s) experience in operating at multiple levels—from strategic, high-level initiatives to detailed cost analysis such as Cost of Goods Sold (COGS).
4+ year(s) experience in data analysis and financial modeling, including experience working with financial systems and tools.
Executive-level communication skills—capable of simplifying and presenting complex analysis clearly.
Financial Analysis IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $96,500 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $123,500 - $206,400 per year.
