The Margin Strategy Investment Operations (MSIO) finance team is an exciting and fast-evolving finance team at the forefront of Microsoft’s Cloud-first strategy. We are looking for a Senior Finance Manager to help shape the future of our cloud products.Join the MSIO E+D ( Experiences + Devices) Investment Optimization & Enablement (IOE) Finance team as a Senior Finance Manager partnering closely with Productivity engineering leaders and teams across Finance to optimize resources and investments. This Senior Finance Manager role requires a mix of analytical skills and process excellence capabilities to provide deep business insights and guide financial decision making & execution. The Senior Finance manager will have executive presence, is comfortable with ambiguity, can work across organizational boundaries, and effectively communicates to influence and drive operating leverage for Microsoft.

This role supports the Productivity engineering teams within E+D and works closely with the Engineering groups as well as the central E+D Investment Optimization & Enablement Finance teams.
Business and Finance Partnership: Provide leadership to the business and other Finance teams with respect to financial management, resource prioritization and allocation. Ensure technology investments are aligned to key priorities and recommend opportunities to re-allocate and re-deploy resources. Drive analytical and conceptual thinking with these partners that extends beyond the numbers into strategy. Long Range Planning: Responsible for long range planning and target setting in alignment with Corporate and E+D timelines. Communicate required deliverables clearly and facilitate reviews with leaders in a timely manner Decision Support: Apply strategic thinking to maximize Engineering investments and ensure investments are aligned to key priorities. Proactively recommend opportunities to re-allocate and re-deploy resources. Clearly communicate recommendations and scenario analysis to finance and business leaders. Financial Analysis: Take a macro-level view to analyzing results to understand performance against plan/forecast. Monitor trends and key levers, such as headcount and vendor investment against plan/forecast assumptions. Actively communicate across multiple stakeholders to ensure successful end to end understanding of portfolios, processes and planning. Finance Rhythms: Lead finance rhythms with Engineering partners to support forecast, target setting, and long range planning. Clearly communicate results, highlight risks and opportunities, and drive execution with Engineering partners. Drive process optimization and simplification for core financial rhythms. Qualifications
Required QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related fieldOR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related fieldOR equivalent experience.Preferred Qualifications
Advanced certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA)Ability to influence and impact without authority, operate in ambiguity, and solve difficult problems, combined with the ability to prioritize and function well in a dynamic and matrixed environmentProven communication & presentation skills. Can easily present complex financial issues to non-finance executivesProven interpersonal and cross group collaboration skills. Ability to drive simplicity within a complex and matrix environment.Proven technical skills (excellent Excel skills required, Power BI and SQL skills preferred)Demonstrated experience in developing complex financial models, excellent quantitative analysis and forecasting skillsFinancial Analysis IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,600 - $183,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $122,000 - $200,500 per year.
