Description

Come join the Human Resources (HR) Finance team at Microsoft as a Senior Finance Manager, Total Rewards! Finance has a reliable seat at the table with the Compensation and Benefits leadership team and you will serve as a trusted advisor to the business.

This role provides controllership support for the Global Compensation and Benefits team in HR, including responsibility for managing the ~$4B United States (US) Benefits Cost Pool. Your analysis will be instrumental in understanding cost drivers, driving long term planning, accurate forecasting, controlling costs, and influencing resource allocation decisions.

Leveraging analysis, modeling and communication skills, business acumen, storytelling, and sound judgement is key to successfully operating in this role. You will be a trusted advisor and controller to the business, advising them as they navigate resourcing decisions, leveraging your insights to help evaluate productivity, efficiency and thoughtful recommendations as to how to optimize.

Build, maintain, and drive robust financial models to help guide / influence business decisions and to support forecasting, budgeting, and resource allocation decisions.Drive the financial analysis to ensure financial levers are clear for executive decision making related to the annual Salary and Benefits Planning Process for the company. Coordinate across all Finance and HR stakeholder groups to ensure a shared understanding of options, drivers and profit & loss (P&L) implications.Develop trusted business partnerships with leaders through deep understanding of their business and proactive financial management, as well as strengthening relationships with other key stakeholders in HR, Procurement, and the broader Central Finance Team (CFT) organization.Leverage new techniques, tools and technology (including AI [artificial intelligence] and Machine Learning) to drive forecast accuracy improvements for US Benefits.Lead all key rhythms of business (ROB) for the team including planning, budgeting, close and forecast.Own company-wide cost pool allocations, including planning of annual rate changes that align with the annual plans agreed upon and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) requirements; ensure rates are updated in our systems properly and drive audits to ensure allocations are executed properly.Analyze and present executive quality financial results performance to leadership teams in a clear and concise manner, including monitoring business health, P&L trends, key drivers and variances, resource investments against plan/forecast assumptions and proposing spend optimization where appropriate.Ensure that financial results are stated accurately and in accordance with accounting policy and ensure business proposals and changes to existing processes are covered by appropriate policies, align with finance rhythm and have sound internal controls in place.Drive cost efficacy initiatives through financial analysis, reporting and process improvements.Enhance existing processes for consistency, standardization and to increase efficiency and implement new financial processes as needed.Other - Embody our culture and values

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related fieldOR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related fieldOR equivalent experience.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 8+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership or Finance work experienceOR Masters Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 6+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experienceOR equivalent experience.1+ year(s) work experience in the technology or software industry.1+ year(s) work experience in matrix-based organization.1+ year(s) experience in multinationals with multi-product/multi-segment finance roles.Experience with data visualization, AI or Machine Learning technologies or tools.

Financial Analysis IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,600 - $183,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $122,000 - $200,500 per year.
