This role serves as the primary finance and commercial partner to Microsoft’s Supply Chain and Sourcing organizations, supporting the structuring, negotiation, and approval of large-scale, long-term, and non-standard supplier agreements. The individual will lead financial analysis, deal modeling, and commercial risk assessment for complex supplier transactions, ensuring Microsoft achieves optimal economics, risk allocation, and long-term strategic value.

The role requires deep expertise in financial modeling, deal structuring, and cross functional negotiation, with the ability to operate effectively across a broad stakeholder set including Supply Chain, Sourcing, Engineering, Legal, Tax, Treasury, and Corporate Finance.

Responsibilities

Deal ownership & Commercial partnership: Serve as the finance partner to Supply

Chain and Sourcing teams for Microsoft’s most complex supplier agreements, including:

• Long-term capacity commitments

• Multi-year supply and pricing agreements

• Non-standard commercial structures (prepayments, volume commitments, etc.)

• Partner directly with sourcing and deal leads to analyze, structure, and challenge

commercial terms, ensuring best-in-class pricing and alignment with Microsoft’s long-term

strategy.

• Financial Modelling: Build and own robust financial models to evaluate supplier agreements, including:

Total cost of ownership (TCO) Scenario, sensitivity, and risk analysesDevelop and maintain financial benchmarks and guardrails for supplier pricing, cost structures, and deal economicsAssess and clearly articulate key financial risks, optionality, and long-term economic implications of proposed deals.Market and Industry insightsStay current on supplier market dynamics, cost drivers, capacity trends, and contractual innovations across relevant supply chain segments.Translate market, technical, and commercial developments into clear insights for Finance and Supply Chain leadership, highlighting risks, opportunities, and strategic implications.Embody Microsoft’s culture and values

Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications:

Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR equivalent experience.This role follows a hybrid work model and is based in Redmond, Washington. Employees are expected to work on-site in Redmond on a regular, recurring basis in alignment with business and team needs.Additional Preferred Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in strategic finance, commercial finance, investment, or deal-focused roles, with significant exposure to large, complex, long-term agreementsDemonstrated expertise in building and owning complex financial models, including scenario and sensitivity analysis for high‑stakes decisionsProven experience negotiating commercial and financial terms with external suppliers or partnersAbility to operate in ambiguous, fast-paced environments, exercising judgment and influencing outcomes without perfect informationTrack record of executive-level communication, including preparing clear, concise deal narratives and recommendationsExcellent cross‑functional collaboration skills, with the ability to translate financial, contractual, and market complexity into actionable insights

Financial Analysis IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $96,500 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $123,500 - $206,400 per year.
