At Microsoft, the SAN (Search and News Advertising) Finance team plays a critical role in shaping strategic decisions by delivering actionable insights that drive smarter financial and business outcomes. We are at the forefront of incubating and scaling new advertising revenue streams, working in close partnership with Senior Finance leaders, Engineering, Business Development, and Sales & Marketing teams. We are seeking a Senior Finance Manager, Sales Finance Analytics, to support our $1B Global Channel Partner business. You will leverage an analytical mindset, adept modeling capabilities, and the ability to communicate complex financial insights clearly and effectively to stakeholders, including executives. In this role, you will bring structure to a rapidly evolving business, ask second-order questions to uncover the “why” behind trends, and help shape strategic direction through data-driven insights. Ideally, as a curious fast learner, you bring a passion for understanding business models and the key drivers behind performance.

Prioritize

Lead financial analytics for the $1B Global Channel Partner business, evaluating current and future performance. Conduct in-depth assessments of financial plans, acquisition activity, and emerging opportunities.Own the financial close process for the sales motion, including preparation of recurring reports, forecasts, and executive presentations. Identify key variances and trends to inform future projections and strategic decisions.Support ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects, delivering timely insights that drive business impact.Partnership

Act as the primary Finance partner for the Channel Partner business, addressing all revenue, expense, and compliance-related inquiries tied to financial reporting and analysis.Deliver insights on financial planning, variance analysis, resource optimization, investment strategies, and KPI (Key Performance Indicator) tracking—driving accountability and margin improvement.Apply foundational knowledge of Microsoft Finance systems, policies, metrics, and business models to perform technical analysis, build models, and deliver standardized reporting.Enhance data collection methods and develop automated tools for financial reporting and forecasting. Leverage advanced technologies to deepen analytical capabilities.Communicate financial results—both recurring and ad hoc—in a clear, structured, and actionable manner tailored to diverse stakeholders.Protect

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR equivalent experience.2+ years of financial or data modeling experiece.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

Masters Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 6+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience OR Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 8+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance work experience OR equivalent experience.1+ year(s) experience in multinationals with multi-product/multi-segment finance roles.1+ year(s) work experience in matrix-based organization.1+ year(s) work experience in the technology or software industry.Robust analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.Communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Proficiency in financial software and tools, such as Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.

Financial Analysis IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $96,500 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $123,500 - $206,400 per year.
